Hey fellas, I have a contest of sorts.

American Express is giving 2.5 million to help get member's projects off the ground. The catch is that they have to be nominated. One of my good friends has submitted an idea and it's in the nomination category now.

Here's the contest.

Go here...
http://www.membersproject.com/project/view/CL455M

and place a nomination. Then, post a comment with your member name from CA forums. There are 7 days left. If you've decided this might be a worthwhile project then nominate the bastard (heh heh), and post here.

When you post here, please guess a number between 1-1000. On August 22nd I will reveal the winner if a correct number was guessed, or whoever is closest.

The prize.........10 sticks from my humi, and I don't mean the apple phillies.

Anyone wanna play?

Sounds like a good idea, and I hope the best to your friend.

i posted the "HUMANE TREATMENT OF HUMANS" rant.. and this is how i truly feel. I think your friends idea get some sort of nomination and funding.. it obviously falls to the private sector(Amer. Express) to do something about all of this because our dam government "cant find the $$" I entered it under Mattysmokes.. but it came up under my # CM360473... hope that counts.. and i do truly believe in his cause.. as you can see by my feelings on the comments section.. i will use the # 473 since it was part of my sign up #..

thanks
matt

nominated and commented. good plan your friend has there. And I'll guess 23, cause that's the day the program ends.

I agree 100% with Mattysmokes comments on the amex website.

I nominated this project as well. I am CM002994 on the amex site.

My guess is 711.

I feel this is a good game for a good cause.

Matt

OK - I like the project, and it has my nomination (user CM519003 - I already had an account, but my screen name is posted within the comment...)

So my guess?

Well, in the spirit of the olympics, how could I put anything other than 888? Smile

Ok all, this contest is closed to the contestants that entered before this post.

Here is what I'm going to use to pick the number. I will goto this website.

http://www.random.org/integers/

from the 5 columns of random numbers, I will use my birthday to choose 5 numbers. Counting down each column for each number of my birthday (m/d/year)When added together they will reveal the winning number.

Whoever is closest wins the stogies.

Seeya friday night! Thanks for the nominations and thanks for participating!

The random number that came up was 403!

Mattysmokes won with a guess of 473. That makes him the closest!

Congratulations! Happy Friday!! and get me you address so I can get your sticks out on Monday.
