The Ring Around The Stogies series has been a great success and we are now up to incarnation VI! I'm dubbing this one Smoketoberfest.

Since most people don't have the time to invest in a box pass; the prep, the tracking, etc. I created Ring Around the Stogies for quick cigar trading fun. The first five were great and I hope this one will be even better.

It's the relatively quick turnaround of a PIF but with the feel of a box pass. Here it is:

Ring Around The Stogies VI, Smoketoberfest!

The total will be 15 participants! This seems to be the best number right now, as it doesn't take long to fill up and logistically sending out the names and emails are still manageable.

Now for the catch! I'm telling you about it right now, but I will only take the first 13 respondents who reply to this post after Midnight on Friday September 30th, CA Forum time.(12:01am Saturday October 1st.)

You quick witted ones are probably saying, "Hey BinDer, you plus 13 of us only makes 14! What gives?" Well last month I promised SRage when he was in Iraq and couldn't participate in R.A.T.S. V, that I would save him a spot in the next R.A.T.S. So myself and SRage are "gimmes."

SRage send an email to me with your screen name and snail mail address.

This advance notice gives people time to decide if they will participate and prevents that "d'oh!" of logging into the trades and realizing you just missed a chance to get in on one. I bet there will be a lot of people sitting by their computer Friday night going, "Is it time yet? Is it time yet?" I guarantee this thing will fill up fast, so be ready!

Here goes;

Reply to this post with "I want to be a Rat!" on or after 12:01am Saturday the 1st.

People replying with "I want to be a Rat" before then will be inelligible for R.A.T.S. VI!

I'll take all the names and put them in a hat.

I will have an impartial observer (my GF or dog) pull the names from the hat.

The first name pulled sends 5 cigars to the second name pulled, second sends five to the third guy pulled and so on. Last guy pulled sends 5 cigars to the first guy.

I'll have my GF e-mail the names to keep it anonymous, like a Secret Santa, until the packages arrive. I won't even know who has who!

You should have some decent cigars on hand and be prepared to send your package within 5 days from when we get enough players.

Usual pass protocols in effect:
Players should be "known" a bit on the board. say a couple of hundred posts and previous PIF or trade participation. The Eddie Abbott rule will be in effect, whereby any low post count or new members can be vouched-in by a past R.A.T. member or other trusted trader.

Other than that anything goes. Send what you can afford, sort of like a PIF. Karma should guide you, as this is a pretty good group to trade with.

Who wants to play Ring Around the Stogies VI? Let me know by sitting up until midnight on Friday and have a Happy Smoketoberfest!

Now I have to go carve some Jack-O'-Lanterns out of cigars.

I checked the PIF threads and I would say that Jeff qualifies.

(I don't want anyone to think I'm being a slob with the participation rules, I just want to protect the playa's. If someone doesn't send their cigars out, I'd send replacements, as I'm the Ring leader. I just feel it's my responsibility.)
