Ever thought about selling 5 of those cigars for $5 each to some of your college buddies so that they can look cool and smoke a cigar? Act like their good buddy Sam smoking a stogie????? That way you would have the money to send the Money Order and the postage to send it to me. What fine reading. The Sam guy sounds like a real treat. $25.00 can be had with one part time job. My advice to the board is that everytime he posts just ignore it. I hate to tell you Tampa but unless you go out to his college and find him the money isn't happening. (Could he have been foolish enough to use his real name?)
Next is the list on page one of this thread. No doubt many are moochers or less than honorable traders but to blacklist someone that may have made a mistake is poor protocol. Everyone is new at one time and if they make a mistake the time should be given for them to honor it. If not, then their name should remain on a list. One that has me is bargain humidors. I have had nothing but good luck using them. In fact one time I ordered 70% climmax beads and got a ups confirmation and all. I left a voice mail that I was mistaken in wanting that type of bead and wanted 65%. Two days later the order says 70% but when I opened the box I had 65%. They reopened the package and gave me what I needed. Could have easily said tough luck. So to make the list you need consideration. I would ask that you can get removed from the list with a certain amount of positive consideration.
In fact we are cigar smokers. Not Newport/Camel puffers.We have an image to uphold and having a "scumbag" list with theme music from "Cops" is a little over the top. I think the list can be done with much more class and thoroughness.

Yes, that image is one of integrity. Those that can't find it within themselves to conduct their dealings with integrity will be ostracized from the community.

I agree with you. But using the term scumbag and cops theme music is a little childish. Not saying the list should go away but the bells and whistles need to be a little more adult and fine tuned to showing a image of adults. I agree with the idea behind the list but its production is wrong.
I've been following the Sam Greene saga for months now. It seems to me the man simply has no honor.
First, he should never have entered into a trade he doesn't have the $$$ or cigars for. I have worked multiple jobs, paid a mortgage, went to college at night and raised a family all simultaneously. I certainly wouldn't have engaged in trades beyound my means at that time and in fact I curtailed my cigar smoking to almost nihl during that period.
Second, if he found himself in dire straits during the middle of the trade, he should have sent back the merchandise he received and a note explaining why. He could have promised to make it up at a later date. While he wouldn't have garnered anyone's confidence or respect, he would have saved SOME dignity and avoided the complete contempt and scorn of everyone on this board.
Lastly, if he is as poor as he says and has some Torano's laying around from a granddad who gave up smoking, he should grab a healthy handful and then some, pack them up neatly and send them to Tampa with an apology for all of the BS.
Also Tampa, you might just want to let this go and only bring it up when Sam Greene is trying to actively scam anyone else.
Sam DID just try ANOTHER scam! This time with BlackMountainMan. There was NO DOUBT he tried to get BMM tro send his end first. All the while coming up with excuse after excuse. Go read the thread........Its PITIFULL!

Sam is pure evil and sadistic. He exsists only because the "system" contains a design flaw. What is that flaw? It is the same thing that makes the system work. The system depends upon honor and integrity to make it work. The system also "works" for those who possess no honor or integrity.

Well said UM-Rebel. That is what makes this kind of behavior SO DISGUSTING. People like Sam and all the other scumbags take advantage of the TRUST and wonderful GENEROUSITY of great guys like Tampa.
In case anyone has not figured this out. This kind of behavior is about a hell of alot more than a couple of dollers or a few cigars. These guys violate the VERY SPIRIT of our Cuban cigar community. The core, the foundation of which is BUILT ON TRUST,HONOR & INTEGRITY.
Thankfully our community is quite strong. Piss ants like Sam will NEVER undermine that. But they will try.....and they WILL FAIL!
Chuck (Tampa) is class act all the way. Sam or any one us should feel HONORED to take part in a trade with him. Keep in mind Tampa was doing Sam a FAVOR! He was just trying to help out a new guy he THOUGHT was here for the same reasons as the rest of us.
If Sam would have lived up to his word he COULD have been part of something very special. And now?......Nada.
BlackMountainMan as well. He not only offered Sam a chance to redeem himself (impossable since sam STILL had not paid Tampa) but did so with many of us advising him not to. BMM offered HIS TRUST and integrity. Thankfully he was smart enough to not send his end first.
I agree that crooks & con men should get their "clocks cleaned". However that is pretty tough to do over the internet. Nor do I think violence is really the answer. Although I certainly understand the urge to do so.
So THIS is what we do about it. We keep an eye out for the scum who pray on the generous. We SPEAK UP when neccessary. We make lists and have a LONG LONG memory......And guys like Sam will get their just punishments. Because if nothing else he is stuck with WHO HE IS....KARMA does exist!......
So a message to ANY and ALL scumbags..... Play nice. Cause someone is ALWAYS WATCHING you.
