I have mine as well...we'll let these sit this week and then the cutoff date to have them smoked and reviewed by no later than Friday, June 20th? Is this ok with everybody? Gives 10 days from now....
P.S.-I have 2 to take care of, I may do the first one tonight or tomorrow night since I've had mine since mid last week.

Also, same thing applies to the review...guess if it is NC or CC then review it to the best of your ability and take stab at trying to guess which cigar it is....

Alright, well I just smoked the first of the 2 sticks last night...here's my review:
It was 8:56 PM (smoked for 55 minutes) Front porch Slight breeze, sun is setting
It had a smell of tobacco to it and it was a strong scent, but very light at the same time, i knew this would be a smooth cigar
Clip: very quick and smooth
Pre-Light Draw: It was a bit on the firm side for me, just a touch of spice on my palate, very small amount, it had something else familiar, but I just couldn't place it
1 Soft spot towards the foot of the stick
1/3-Firm draw, a crisp taste, dry on the palate, razor burn, some hints of wood and a small hint of spice in the aftertaste, started out the first 5 puffs as harsh, the mellowed out, lots of smoke
2/3-draw loosens a little bit, still producing a billowing cloud of smoke with every puff, same tastes (wood, crisp, dry) as the first 1/3, but this time with just the slightest hint of a floral note as the smoke leaves the palate
3/3-stopped it with about 2 inches left (it went out on me because I was telling a story to a friend, oops)...still very mellow
Overall: very mellow, mild, cigar with a crisp dry taste...no burn problems whatsoever and it never got harsh on me
I'm going to say it was an NC because there was no triple cap (at least I don't think so, lol)...as for which NC it was..i have no clue, I'll go ahead and say it was an Oliva G?
P.S.-this is the lighter of the 2 wrappers

Received my pack yesterday... I knew the sender, we traded in the past.
Right after receiving the cigars, I was struck by their short, fat size. With a spongy feel and velvety touch, it reminded me of a Hoyo Petit Robusto I smoked two weeks ago. I lit it up and it burned quickly. I was outside and the cigar could have been a touch on the dry side. The finish was bitter but it left a great aftertaste.
Jim, thanks for sending two. I'll give other one a lite next week.

PRE-LIGHT: the cigar looks to be a typical toro size about 6x50-52, a nice chocolaty hued maduro wrapper. the wrapper gives off just that, a rich chocolate with a little spice. First impression leads me to an Edge maduro. very firm, no softs spots and a double cap. pre-light draw has a little spice and a bitter cocao flavor (i think).
FIRST 1/3: cigar draws real well and has a decent amount of smoke. cigar has sort of a grassy flavor with a little spice, starting to pick up a little bittersweet chocolate as well. spice subsided and the chocolate picked up as the third progressed.
SECOND 1/3: started to pick up some leathery flavors, other then that the cigar remained the same.
FINAL 1/3: no discernible change
OVERALL: not a bad smoke, not something i would smoke on a daily basis but a good change of pace. similar to the HdM epicure maduro but i like that one a lot better. im gonna stick to my gut and go with an edge toro based on the consistency in flavor, size, and construction (really tightly wrapped, almost no spring in the cigar) cuz ive never had one. it also tasted honduran tobacco but im not sure. id give it an 87 b/c of the lack of complexity.
so was i right?
DAMN, Im Thirsty! I want a beer, how bout you? You want a beer?
So I settled in and had my unbanded smoke this evening:
Robusto, nice triple cap so more likely than not, it was a CC...
Prelight draw was perfect, just enough resistance.
Flavor was pretty consistent throughout the first 2/3 of the cigar. Not too harsh, but strong enough to let you know it was there. Straight from the first few puffs, there was a nice bit of spice and some nuty overtones. I have been tasting fruit/berries in some cigars lately and this is following suit. Burn is perfect and the ash is a nice grey and firm enough to supprt the weight of the cigar when stood on its foot.
The final third started with hints of chocolate and honey with the first few puffs but had a strong tobacco finish.
Overall I thought this cigar was very nice. I would give it a 8.2 out of 10.
As far as the brand, I would guess a PSD4??? either that or a Choix Supreme.

My dad was smoking an Oliva V belicoso and the ash on it was bright white. Mine was grey so I thought it had to be a CC.
Good job, thanks for the smoke, I had been wanting to try one of those. It was pretty good too. I really like this exchange.
glad you enjoyed it, its one of my favs too, i got one from a wish list and loved it so much i bought the gran habano sampler. i still got 4 left im saving for the right time.

Ok, so I lost my notes from smoking the darker of the two cigars that CP gave me...here's what i remember:
6x50 Toro: Oily/Shiny maduro wrapper
Smoked very evenly with a long ash, I finally ashed it about 2 inches in because the draw was tight and once I ashed it, the draw was perfect again! It started off with spice for the first 5 draws and then mellowed out and there were a honey sweet finish on my palate throughout the rest of the cigar. I really enjoyed it! I've never had this cigar before, but from the appearance of it (it had a couple flaws in the wrapper, like a spot where the wrapper was bunched) and it wasn't perfectly cylindrical, but a tiny bit curved so I believe it was a second. After thinking for a while, i think it was:
an RP Edge Maduro second...
so was I close CP?!
