I had the A. Fuente Gran Reserva tonight from the Pif and I wasn't that impressed. It was my first Fuente and I had high expectations. I usually smoke them down close to the nub and couldn't make it through half of this one, although it was about 10 inches long.
On the bright side, I did have the Ashton VSG last night and absolutely loved it. I believe they are made by Fuente as well.
Does anyone know of a another (maybe cheaper and more available) cigar that is close to an Ashton VSG? I went to a couple websites and saw that many places don't even sell boxes of those, only singles.

Originally posted by Ryanh50: Well, around here most stores have TONS of VSGs for sale. (I live in atlanta GA) they are pricey though.
I personally like the san cristobal's (they are made by ashton) they are a bit more medium than the vsg but a very good smoke.
You should try the gurkha legend it is another medium bodied but very tasty!
Ryan,
Thanks for the info. I do have to say that the Gurkha Legend is another of my favorites, although not quite as tasty as the Ashton VSG.
I only have one cigar shop within 15 miles and they do not supply many premium brands. They have some lower end Fuentes but no Gurkhas, Graycliffs,or Ashtons. I usually have to head on-line to find something.
