Here is a topic we can brain storm new ideas for a "pif".

Here are some ideas:

A specified MSRP range.

Maybe a seperate CC and NC trade group.

Notify shipper of what you are shipping, before you ship.

A certain post level, or someone to vouch for you.

Maybe a 2 way trade, the person you send to, sends to you.

Sounds like a good place to start, however I think letting the PIF recipient know what he'll be getting kinda ruins the surprise doesn't it?
And if you're gonna put a MSRP clause in this, you'd need to pick a source to quote from. I picked up Anejo Sharks for $12 bucks a pop at my local shop, and see them online for $35. My point to that is with the tons of online shops you can almost certainly find the same smoke for extremely low and high prices.

The thing about the # of posts? A newbie can post 300 times in a month where a guy registered for a year only chimes in every so often. Who is more credible?

Not trying to give you a headache hardlined, just trying to get some question and answers in motion so it starts off smoothly.

I've been around for a while and pipe up only every now and again. When you guys set the parameters, I'd like to give it a shot (no pun intended). As for reliability, you can check my feedback on E-bay.

No problem, all your points are valid, hence this "brainstorming" session Wink

I think for you to participate in the new PIF you should have your name listed in the "good traders and standup guys" thread atleast twice and it has to recommend by members in good standing that we all know.

The part about the posts is a good point but if you dont contribut then how do we know anyhing about you? Thats the how point of this forum, to contribute and gain knowledge from others.
Id rather have a newb participate that contributes and is part of the community than someone who just takes up space and doesnt add anything to the forums. Wink

I'd like the idea of another premium box pass, since I didnt get in on the last one.

Stoge,

Unless you've traded before (at least twice?), how can you be deemed a good trader or standup guy? That's like saying, if you're not in the union, you can't have a job and if you don't have a job, then you can't be in the union. Confused

Let's face it, a poster is basically only a voice on the other end of the line. You only know what they want you to know. I don't post all that often, because I get tired of the trolls and the knitpicking that goes on. If someone reneges on a PIF, I'm sure the word will get out right quick and their name added to the rap sheet.

So if a guy posts 200 times and is a bullsh!t artist, he's more credible than a guy who doesn't post? Okay, so count me out then. I really don't need to PIF, just thought I'd give it a whirl.

True the more posts at least you appear to be credible. However trading doesn't really get you recognized, I've done PIFs with Stoge and Harlined, not to mention several others and no one (at least I don't think) has taken a few minutes to add my name to the stand up guy trading list.
hmmm

Really, I must me mistaken then because I could have sworn I have either under the PIF thread or PIF II thread.
Either way, anyone who would even bother to backpeddle through the thread would see me involved in several, and although it's easy to say I'm credible, a) I wouldn't submit my own name to the stand up list, and b) I think it would be on the tacky side to ask one of my former trade partners.
They're either the type of folks to take a minute to do something like that, or their not.

Stoge, we're all bullsh!ters at one time or another. All I'm saying is, how can you get on the "Good Guys" list if you're not allowed to PIF to begin with? I gave what I thought would be a good indicator of my credibility (E-Bay trading) in lieu of being an active poster on these forums.

And after all's said and done, look at BD who PIFed and still isn't on the "List". Roll Eyes

Let me put it like this. Im not saying this to Brown Devil because he might be the best PIF'er in the would but the reason some guys dont get put on the goodtraders list is becuase they PIF $h!t, if Im gonna PIF you Some good premium sticks and your gonna send me some ol tired dogrockets, Im not gonna put you on the goodtraders list. There are alot of guys out there trying to scam, this is why this thread came about. No one said you couldnt play Sniper, the rules aint even set yet. Plus there are always a couple of exceptions to the rules.
I hope the new rules are better and more refined than in the past, at least with some price points.

At least you weren't directing that comment towards me Big Grin

My last PIF here I sent a Partagas Luisitania, Davidoff Mill. Robusto, and Puros Indios Gordo.
Yes the Puros is on the 6 dollar side, but it's a unique and FAT stick, wanted someone to have a chance to try one, and my first 2 trades were excellent. I got a nice email from the PIF recipient thanking me afterwards, but I didn't see my name show up either.
On the other side of this electical fence, I've gotten some very generous sticks from members and haven't written their names down anywhere.
Yes that's my fault, but it just proves my point. Some people do, and some people don't.

So what's the answer? Send the thread originator a pif so he can decide whether or not to submit our names. I can honestly say I think anyone I've traded with will vouge (sp) for me. And my rep on CigarPass is solid.
I'll step down from my soap box now Cool

BD,

I did a motorcycle vacation out your way a year ago this past summer. I really like Arizona. I wanted to relocate out there after I retired, but the Bride had other ideas. Gee, did I mention that I really like Arizona?

Boy, don't I wish? I saw a lot of building going on when I was there. If I could, I'd do the area of Pine, or basicly anything North from Prescott Valley.
