UPS or FedEx Ground required.

And just for the record, the approximate value of this box is $400 - and it will be insured for same. That will make stealing it a felony in most states.

Contacting the cops in your area will be the first step. But It will not be the last.

I guarantee stealing this box will not be worth the trouble it will cause you.

Can anyone get all the CA Ratings so people who dont have the insider can compare.

I looke up the ratings for those that cost under $10. They're all 88 and above. If you want to know the flavor profile, I'd be happy to share that, or you can ask around.

At this level of sheer deliciousness, it's all going to be subjective anyway. The difference between an 88 or an 89 is marginal, at best.

I do know that the monster Puros Indios Pyramide#1 got a 92 at some point, though. So smoke it if you dare. You could use the damn thing as a baseball bat.

so while cigars under 10 bucks are kosher if they are at least an 88, we should try to maintain cost parity as well right?

We don't want to take an 89 rated 10-15 dollar stick and replace it with a $5 92 rated stick correct? I just want to make sure I don't devalue the treasure of this pass

Exactly right, RX.

For example, the Oliva Grand Cameroon I included had a rating of something like 89 or 90, I forget. Yet it was only $3. Likewise, the Puros Indios Pyramide was rated a 92 but cost about $9. Thus, you can replace the Oliva for a $3 stick and the Puros Indios with a $9.

However, the Opus X Reserva D'Chateau cost about $18. Two $9 sticks would NOT be an acceptable alternative. An $18 Graycliff, on the other hand, would be. (This is based on MSRP + rarity. The site cssmithnj posted should be a good guide.)

Also, it goes without saying that CC's can only be taken if you have CC's to put. (Cigars made with "pre-embargo" Cuban tobacco don't count.) Of course, if you feel like taking an NC and replacing it with a CC, that's wonderful, though totally unnecessary.

If you have any questions about whether something would constitute a fair trade, please don't hesitate to ask either here in the forum or through e-mail.

That's another good point. If you have a question about cigar parity, Scottological should make the call. I've done this before, send the host an e-mail - "I'm thinking of putting X cigar in for taking Y cigar. Do you think that's a good trade." Not saying everyone has to do this, just if you're not sure.

Now, I'm just butting in because I'm not even in the pass, but . . . don't the rules clearly state that you cannot put 2 cigars to make up for one take. They should be exchanged on an equal dollar amount - 1 for 1 - regardless of size. If your PC is an equal dollar value to a Torp, go ahead and trade. If you want to put a VSG Tres Mystique and take a CAO Brazillia Samba, that's good (not exactly equal $ amount but you get the point).

Got it. Some folks get a little touchy when CC's are involved. I just don't want to step on any toes.

Dale, thanks for asking. The CC's will go by price also, though these are harder to determine. There are countless CC websites that can help you compare prices for them, but if have questions, please don't hesitate to ask. (Which you did, thanks.)

As I stated, I'm sending the package out Monday, and you should have it sometime Wednesday. It's okay to drop off at your house?

Just noticed, Brandon has to ship this to HI. Is there a premium to ship UPS or FedEx to HI? If so, maybe we all should consider some type of "lanyap" for Brandon.

Any thoughts on that?

Brandon, if you can ship Fedex Express or UPS for hold for pick up at the station at the airport. I'll pay the difference to you or send you some smokes to make up for it. You shouldn't have to be penalized for me participating in Hawaii. My email is in my profile if you want to shoot me an message on what you would like to do. If you have any other ideas we can do that. Thanks.

I wouldn't call it a penalty, but just insuring there's some equity in the exchange. Once we get a feel for the box weight we can probably estimate the cost of delivery to HI. Remember, slkca, you bear the responsibility to get the box back to the mainland, so you are doing your share already.

In an effort to make this as inconvenient as possible for everyone concerned, I've decided that the box must be hand-delivered by a motorcycle courier wearing an Abraham Lincoln costume. In the event that an Abraham Lincoln costume is not available, a Napoleon costume may be subsituted.

;-)
