All excellent tips. I will be doing some sort of address verification in the near future once I have everyone's 411.
Once that's taken care of, I'm not too worried about the box being stolen. It's fascinating how many ways there really are to make someone's life a living hell. The pleasure of it would far outweigh the cost of the cigars.
FYI Scott - I work for a banking fraud tech firm and can assist you with a public records check on addresses for confirmation. I may be a bit late to offer, but let me know if I can help.

Actually, you're right on time. I'd be glad to have your help, if you're sure you don't mind and you're not crossing any ethical boundaries at work.
I'll email you a list.
No problem - I'm not using time or resources that I can bill for.
There may be a few exceptions that are a little difficult to verify such as any work addresses or residences of <1 year, but with only 15 or so participating it should be pretty easy to make sure that everyone is a match. Send away.
Also, for those interested to know, this is just a simple public records check to make sure that your address is historically associated with your name. Nothing creepy.

Because the box is valuable, containing upwards of 200-300 worth of cigars, Aaron helped me verify the addresses of recipients.
The official launch of the HMS Tupperdor is nigh. Right now, I'm waiting on a shipment of CC's to spice up the collection and putting together the packing material for the box.
Any special cigar requests?

Hi Scott, I'm a brand new NOOB, but I'd sure like to join this box pass. I know I'm not qualified according to the terms, but I am willing to go that extra mile to prove good faith.
EDIT: Jeeze, after reading how the guy from Ohio screwed everyone I don't blame you for not considering NOOBs.

Sorry, Cook, I hope you know it's nothing personal, but these are some valuable smokes and we can't just send them around to anyone who isn't a proven stand-up trader.
As it is, we've set the threshold to participate very, very low. I would suggest getting a few trades to your name first, then you can participate in the next one.
You could also introduce yourself in one of the forums, tell us a little about yourself, what you like to smoke, etc.

No problem at all and its not taken personally. I'll take this opportunity to introduce my self a little though, I'm a local business owner in Terre Haute, IN. Wife, 3 kids, like Corvettes! I've been hanging out at my local cigar shop looking over the massive selection. I have a decent little collection and can't wait to try some of what I have. I'm an ex-smoker so I dont want to do more than one a day for fear of waking the addiction monster. Anyway, hope to get to know some of you and I wont take anymore thread space since this probably isnt the thread to introduce myself anyway!
