I have been trying to find out how retail cigar stores buy their cigars. You would think this is an easy question yet all of my attempts at googling this have failed. I am located in Canada and I would like to expand my business to include the sales of select Cuban cigars. Surely there are wholesalers out there? Or maybe most retail stores buy directly from the government? Does anyone out there know more about this? I'm really quite interested in learning more and potnetially getting into the retail sales market for cigars.
Is anyone else out there a believer in Murphy's Law? :P About 5 minutes after I finaly gave up on trying to find this myself and posted my question to this forum I decided to do one last search and viola! I found what I was looking for. It turns out that this really is an easy answer and since I posted the question here I thought it only fair that I also share the answer. A company called Habanos House controls the distribution of Cuban cigars. Through their web site you can find a list of their exclusive dealers broken down by territory. Any way, I'm not plugging the site or anything. Just sharing some info with you in case you have also wondered where retail stores buy their Cubans from.
