I got back from a long trip to NYC today to find a Priority Mail waiting at the office.
Low and behold, two CC's from Appa69. WOW! Is all i can say...
Thanks Appa69, and I look forward to reviewing them. Appa also included the names and dates of the sticks. Something I will remember for the next pass. Good stuff!
Pre-Light - Solid Construction, excellent cap. Caramel/brown wrapper with fleks of reddish streaks. A little bumpy with a slight box press shape. Excellent draw with a light cedary aroma.
Upon light, med/full body with a peppery start. First third maintained the med/full strength, peppery taste subsides, chocolate, cream and wood build.
Half way through, chocolate and wood come to mind, still creamy, strength is medium. Smooth.
Last third, toasty/cedary wood with some more body. Still a bit creamy, a little less chocolate and gaining some strength. The volume of smoke is increasing. I must admit, I have a little tobacco buzz
Down to the nub...still cool and smokeable, and a little pepper is back with a woody finish. Rating...91
Thanks Appa for sharing this cigar!
I'll report back when I smoke the SP (from Dec. 1998!)
Well done mbrody and appa69...I have had the pleasure of smoking one of those from Mr. Appa and I must say it was a great smoking experience...cheers to you two!
Looks like we have a Montecristo theme going...I just received a beautiful No. 4 from CUsccrstud for my cigar to rate...See a previous review of this cigar by me. I will rate this particular cigar tomorrow night for our game...Thanks CU! It looks and smells great, can't wait to sit down and dissect this guy...
Mr. Goodfella has outdone himself this time. Here's the package I received from him:
Don Pepin Garcia Cuban Classic Ashton VSG Graycliff Double Espresso Cabaiguan that I need to rate.
Thanks Mr. G for your generosity. The top three cigars I listed were all from my wishlist. Thanks for going above and beyond, Mr. G! Can't wait to dive into this bunch. I'll post my review when I get the time to enjoy it.

I am by no means an expert, but I gave it my best shot...Montecristo No. 4 given by CUsccrstud...smoking time: 65 mins.
Construction (23/25): Milk Chocolate colored wrapper with two large veins running down. Triple cap slightly lopsided, nice smooth wrapper, nice oils, consistantly filled with very nice bunching in the foot.
Smoking Characteristics (22/25): Rough burn required several touch-ups, small resistance in the draw but produced a ton of smoke. Slight tunneling after each ashing (3). Effortless exhaling through the nose. Tight ash, dark grey to black in color.
Flavor/Aroma (24/25): Prelight aroma of roasted coffee bean and lush cured tobacco. Full-bodied and smooth with absolutely no bite at any time whatsoever. Immediate hit of pepper, mocha and burnt toast, settled down in the 2/3 to pepper, loads of wood and cream over a strong cuban twang and black coffee backbone. 3/3 was intense pepper and twang, still no bite.
Overall Impression (23/25): There is a reason this is the most produced Habano in the world. It seems to me to be extremely consistant with balanced power and flavors. Despite some burn and very slight wrapper issues, this is a great cigar worthy of a 92/100. Should be a staple for any cigar enthusiast.
Thanks for the smoke CU! You just saved the last one of mine in the humi for a little while longer... and thanks to SG for setting this game up...I really enjoyed sitting down and rating this smoke, besides the chance to share some other great smokes with friends...Cheers to all...

I can't remember the Tat sizes off hand either. The only one you're missing was a Gurkha that I sent.
The smoke I'd like you to review is the Graycliff Grand Chateau Cru. It's one of my favorites so I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
awesome! Yea, it was a Gurkha Titan, I believe? I'll get to that Graycliff sometime this week, it looks mighty tasty! And it will be my first Graycliff, lookin forward to it!
