Idfkr-14, I have lived here most of my life. I actually grew up in Post Falls and spent most of my time in Cd'A. BTW, I found a B&M over there that has been awesome, new ownership!
appa69, I will have your smokes out either this afternoon or Wednesday morning.

My brother lives in Post Falls, ID. Last time I was out there was before his weddding in July of 2006. He is always trying to get us out there, we love it. Down the road, we will have to meet up and exchange a smoke. Cheers, Matt

Mr. G, This is my first pass. I chose some sticks that tell you where I am at in my smoking career..."NC's, some moderate experience and experimenting." I was sticking to the title of the pass, yet you will likely identify why they were chosen. I will reveal more after you smoke them...
mbrody- I got yours today but which one do you want me to write a review on? I smoked one and jotted my notes down so I guess it is up to you which one you want me to smoke later on tonight.
Perfectform: Your box is sitting in front of me waiting for 5 pm so it can begin its journey to your humidor. I'll post the DC later tonight if i get a chance, otherwise i'll post and email to you tomorrow

It's up to you, but since the smallest smoke is more common, I would advise reviewing either one or both of the two larger smokes...review the smaller one too if you feel up to it, as that one has some age on it (and imo, continues to improve). The larger smokes do not have much time at rest in the humi(about a month).
Got my cigars today from mbrody. This is my first actual review on a cigar so work with me people. I am still trying to figure out different flavors but I just wrote down what I tasted. My wife enjoys tasting all my cigars and she has a very good palate, so I had to ask a couple times what I was tasting. I received an illusione HL "Holy Lance", Ashton VSG belicoso, and an LG LG Small Batch #2. I had never had the illusione or the LG, so I was pretty excited, plus a VSG, can't go wrong there. I smoked the illusione and here is my review:
The four things that I look for in a cigar are draw, burn, flavor, and overall impression. Some people will have different criteria but this is how I roll.
DRAW/BURN: 31/33 Overall great draw. No dead spots, and very easy. I hate trying to suck the hell out of a cigar and in this case there was no problem. In the beginning of the cigar I had to puff 2 or 3 times to get the amount of smoke that I am used to, but I had no problem with that. First third, it had about a half inch offset (burn), but it corrected itself by the second third and burned equally to the finnish. A lot more smoke in the second third which I was expecting, and strength also changed from mild to medium.
Flavor: 31/33 Prelight flavor was very unusual. It had a woody mint taste which I have never before tasted on prelight. 1/3- Almost a bitter light chocolate with a slight earthy taste. Very pleasing, very mild. Towards the end of the first third I got more of a creamy chocolate taste. 2/3-Chocolate taste is fading fast into the second third. It has that spicy twang when you open your nasal passage. Strenth has changed from mild to medium and the earthy taste is still there, along with small notes of wood. 3/3- Very spicy through the nasal, and wood has taken over. I noticed however, that I got a few hints of orange peel, or citrus...weird! I learned that the best way to smoke the rest is taking very small puffs, and it brought out a much more clean taste.
Overall impression: 26/34 This was my first lancero, and that is probably the only reason why the score is so low. I am not used to the feeling of this cigar and I am still unsure if I will smoke another long, thin cigar. It was also a very fast smoking cigar. Only took about an hour which was very suprising. The first third I had to puff on it to get the right amount of smoke but it kicked my butt after that. The flavors for this cigar were always changing which I enjoyed. It kept me interested in what was going to come next. This cigar could probably be rated a 90 to 91 to people that smoke a lot of lanceros, but this was my first one and it felt very odd smoking it. Overall Mr. Goodfella score: 88
Thank you Mbrody for the wonderfull smokes that you have given. I have enjoyed the HL, and I have really been wanting to try an LG but my local shop does not have them. The VSG, well everyone knows how good those are. Sorry if my review was confusing but I gave it my all. Smoking Gunn- This was a great idea and I look forward to doing this again in the near future.
edited for LG correction

Mr. G your review was awesome. I liked how you broke down each sections with possible scores of 33's and a 34. I have never had an Illusione, as my B&M doesn't carry them. Thanks for taking the time to post the 1st review. I felt like I could taste that chocolately flavor as I was reading!!!
Nice pass mbrody!
side note- You lucky man Mr. G, you scored a VSG as well
SG- A man can never have enough VSG's. That is one of my all time favorite NC's, so yes I am a lucky man. As for you, get ready to cross some stuff off your wishlist, because my pass should be on your doorstep by Friday!
Mr. G, That was a GREAT review. No need for the thanks, but in any case you are welcome. That Lancero size is new to me as well, and I found it fun to smoke. I thought the flavor changes in that smoke were interesting all the way through.
I would like to hear your review of the LG. For the record, that is actually a LG Small Batch #2.
I am going to have to send you an illusione 68 sometime soon. Some similiar flavors to the HL, not as many changes in the flavor, but strength is like they say "bombone!"
Good stuff...thanks for kicking this off SG!
We could simply reverse the list when all is said and done?
My mouth is watering in anticipation already. With the floods going on around here it seems like the shipping is delayed more frequently now, which seems to be delaying my pleasure. It sounds like you did the same thing I did for my pass partner.
CUsccrstud21- get ready to cross a couple off your wish list as well...
