I know I should just take a chill pill and relax, but I am tired of the stream of people who if not on there very first post, then in there first few posts wnat to trade cigars.

My favs usually goes something like this;

"I just bought some Don Mucho Suckos, El Rockitos and I they are just too (big/small/dark/fat/long/light/strong/mild/gay bands/skinny) for me. I'd like to trade them for something else because I apparently have no consumer awareness, let alone the ability to choose a cigar that friggin' suits me."

Let's get this straight new meat;
THIS AIN'T FRIGGIN' ebaY

We are a community! We talk, we get to know each other and we enjoy trading with people. We don't have any kind of insurance or protection, we basically rely on simple trust and good ol' fashioned honesty.

We don't know you and we don't want to know you if your sole intention is to come in here and unload some cigars that have left you with a screamin' case of buyer's remorse.

If your intention is to get to know us and be part of something here, then great! Tell us about yourself, look around at how we do things and STFU about trades until you are a little more well known. Trust me, if cigars are your passion and you are a trustworthy person worth getting to know, you will get way more out of this board than any trade will ever give you.

Now back to your regularly scheduled forum participation. End transmission.

I read this board and others like it all the time and it always seems to be taken over by a few guys as some kind of exlusive club. What makes you the almighty forum expert? The fact that you have nothing better to do than make 2761 posts. You make me laugh!

if there is anything you have gleaned from this board in the 2 plus months you have been a member, you most assuredly got some of it from "those guys that spend their whole day posting " on the forum.

There is nothing exclusive about it. What the established members of the board preach is just plain common sense. If you are going to participate in anything, it makes sense that you first learn how things work. The fact that you say you see it on other boards as well should give you an idea of how wide spread the problem is. I'm still fairly new to this forum but have participated in other forums on other subjects in the past. It is just down right annoying to the established members who make good use of the discussion board to needlessly see that same crap posted over and over again.

There is nothing exclusive about this board. Just take the time to learn how to use it before you start posting and you'll find they are all really nice guys with lots of knowledge that they are eager to share. Some of the guys make good and regular use of sarcasm and such when a newbie does misstep, but if you can't take a little ribbing you just need to get a thicker skin.

Exclusive, I don't think so.
Its more like you have to fit in somehow.
I have gotten my feathers ruffled a number of times and now, in retrospect, I can see how I was wrong. (Don't let that go to you head, BinDer) Now, its fun, and I expect and get ribbing. I think that new guys recently have gotten an easy go of it. The ones that come on like they are God's gift to mankind would get crap no matter where they went.
If people here are opinionated, welcome to the world.
