I just got a 5 pack of Cohiba siglo IV's from my father in law who was in Mexico. These are still sealed in the 5 pack box, then each in it's own box. I am willing to trade one. Looking for offers.

MCooper, seeing as how you are pretty new to the forums, some of us may be skeptical about your credibility. Pictures would help, so if you could post a few for the sticks mentioned above, that may help your cause.

Why do you want to trade only one? Are you looking for something you have not had in return? One just doesn't seem worth it, that's all.

I must say I love the "Not all at once please" line. What are you a creap? Are you so bitter and jaded you have to be nasty?

I made the offer to trade...not sell.
So what if I new to the foruum does that make a stick fake? Pictures? Sure, but then again I think I will take my good will offer to trade something I know is real and smoke it this summer nice to know this is such a welcoming forum.

Oh wow. Another thin skinned newb.
My friend, you just can't come on an established forum and offer up CC's from a place that has 99.999% fakes.
Put yourself in our shoes. Introduce yourself, give us a little backround about you. Tell us where in Mexico that they were purchased and send some pics.
Your off to a bad start but I welcome you none the less.

I was actually interested in the trade, because I have never had a Siglo VI. I am not going to apologize for asking for proof. If I took everyone's word for it, I would have smoked a lot of crap by now. I was gullable once, and that was the last time. If you don't think you need to provide proof, then I will propose a trade: (I got these at my local B&M)

Cohiba 2006 EL Sublime
PSD1 EL 2006

I will gladly swap these two for your Siglo VI.

Yeah - I've got a lovely Esplendido and CoRo from a local B&M as well...

Wink

MCooper2, until we get to know you better, expect some scrutiny. It's just natural caution, given the number of fakes around.

As Littiones said, introduce yourself, help us get to know you and go from there - makes things go much more smoothly.

Why do people take stuff like that so personal? All that was asked for was some pictures for proof. Grow up man. Just take some pictures, put them up here, get a trade going and move on with your life. No one called you a cabrone so get over yourself dude. This is a more than friendly forum. This is one of the kindest and most giving group. So please before you pass judgement on all of us again do some research and you will find that the people whom you speak of sarcastically as "a welcoming forum," are some of the nicest people on this forum.

HAHAHAHA!!!! They went easy on you son...that was nothing even close to resembling a flame! All they are saying is that:

1) you are new to the board and are unknown to people here

2) you re looking to trade a Cohiba (the most counterfeited cigar in the world)

3) That was bought in Mexico (lots of fakes in Mexico)

Naturaly, we're going to be a bit skepitcal without pictures. By no means is a picture definitive of a fake, but it helps to see if they are real without actualy smoking it as it shows the band, contructions, flaws, color, etc.

You want to see an example of someone getting flamed, go to the Cuban Cigar forum and read the thread about Matthew NY/NJ when he first joined the forum. You might also learn how to get along on this board as Matt did. He didn't whine or get pissy....he learned what to look for in CC's and is now pretty respected here.

In fact, I'll make it easier for you. Here's a link to the thread: Matt's first CC

Thanks for posting the pictures! I'm not an expert either, but from the looks of the band, they look like they are counterfeit. The 3rd row of dots down should be full squares (not cut off) and be completly above the Cohiba Box. Check them against the samples in the Counterfiet Gallery located on the CA Home Page.

The other thing you can do is cut one open. The leaves should be long filler. If they are chopped up pieces, they're definatly fakes. It's a costly sacrifice but may be worth it just for piece of mind. But even if they are fake Cohibas, it doesn't mean that they are bad cigars. Smoke one and if youlike them, then it's a good cigar. I've smokes several fake cc's that turned out to be somewhat of a decent smoke.

Do you know were in Mexico your dad bought them from? I've been a victim of fauxhibas too...happens to the best of us.

That stick really looks like a fake because of the band. A larger pic of the band up close would help.

Also, I'm not sure, but is the seal in the right place and right position?

I agree the bands are suspect. A closer pic would be great.

I don't like the spacing of the white squares at both the top edge and the joint with the logo box. Also, if you can, stop your camera down a bit or reduce the exposure value to eliminate the sharp glare. I don't think I like the quality of the gold lettering, but I can't be sure as is.

A close up of the warranty seal on both sides of the box would help as well.

Judging by the bands, those are definatly fakes. The white squares not being uniform in size, the spacing of them being off, and that 3rd row being cut off in half by the Cohiba Box is s tell-tale sign of fakes. V.O. Brings up another point about the seal. Aren't Habanos seals usualy in the upper-left corner of a box?

I'm sorry bro, but it looks like your father was ripped-off. If he bought them from anywhere other than an LCDH store, it's 99.9% that he did get fakes.
