I would hardly call a DCM a dog rocket. I doubt pittsmoker would either.
that's your opinion but for the $ i think they are an aweful smoke and i would personally never purchase one. please keep in mind this is my opinion, i've never had a good DCM. i was even gifted one with plenty of age and still thought it was crap.
pitt i'm fine with the LFD.
Yes, we all have different opinions regarding the quality of a smoke. However, your opinion that a particular smoke is a dog rocket which you would never purchase should not be a determining factor as to whether it is a fair trade in a box pass.

it's my boxpass, this is an ultra premium pass. rarity does come into a major factor in this also. DCM's can be found on every street corner. tell me where someone can buy a shark right now by the box? i will still call DCM's dog rockets till the day i die.

Yes, it's your pass, but it's not entirely just for your benefit or enjoyment. Rather, it's for the benefit and enjoyment of all the passes' participants. By vetoing a put because you think it's a dog rocket makes it seem like you're worried about getting "stuck" with a stick that you don't want in the event that no one takes it.

maybe you skipped over the part about rarity. if you try taking a stick that is released once a year and putting something in that is released by the box and made in quantities of a hundred plus thousand then there is an issue. it's not just price that comes into factor here, rather the fact that one is very HTF and the other a very common cigar.
as for me getting stuck with something, this pass is going to get donated to the troops so honestly i don't care what it winds up with. only that the trades are even.

I agree with wes that the DC maximus are good cigars and I wouldnt go so far to call them dog rockets but that's just Jay's opinion. I like the maximus's. I couldnt tell you if they are worth the price b/c I havent smoked that many. are they equal to an anejo?? price wise they are but anejo's are pretty rare and hard to come by.

you didn't. i wouldn't worry about it. it's more of a rarity issue. FWIW and i should have said this, this pass will go up for auction on another website as a prize for whoever donates the most cigars to the troops who are in need of stogies.

I understand the rarity issue. All I'm saying is the Anejos are not all that rare and can be purchased if you know where to look. They will also become more readily available in the next month or so. But we'll just leave it at that. Like pitt said, water under the bridge. No hard feelings.
Jay, I applaud your gesture of donating the cigars to the troops. Very well played. If only you would have told us prior to the pass. I'm sure many would have kicked in extra sticks for the cause.
