Okay folks, Seems theres been a pattern of some folks getting in on boxpasses & PIF's that dont seem to have a wristwatch or calendar. You know the type, the guy gets the box & sits on it for a week or two? Forgets to get a delivery confirmation? Dosent get insurance on the contents? Many of those who have participated in passes over the years knows it happens more than it should. I know....life shows up. Many times it can be less of an issue if some simple rules are set up prior to announcing the start of a pass.
Heres an idea to minimize the slackers & the lazy ones in your future passes.
Make sure everyone knows all your rules prior to the pass starting.
State that to be involved in your pass you must agree to the following: 1) Once the package is received, you have 3 days to mail it back out. 2) Once mailed, you must post the shipped date & delivery confirmation number if shipped USPS, or tracking number if shipped via courier (ie: UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc) for all to see. 3) Insure the box for an approx. replacement value of its contents! 4) If you hold the box past 3 days you will be known as a slacker and put on my s h i t list of bad tradees. It will also be known to others thinking of allowing this guy in on their future passes.
If you're thinking about getting in on a boxpass, make sure you know what the deal is. Dont get involved if your time is very limited. Dont get involved if you are always out of town on business. Dont get involved if you have a 4 week vacation planned during the pass. Dont get involved in a top notch pass if you only have lower notch cigars. Dont take 5 Havana Churchills & put in 6 Padron 2000's & thinks its okay. Dont get involved if a "must insure" rule is in place & you cant afford to insure it.
this pass will be an ultra premium pass. YOU CANNOT TAKE CC's AND REPLACE THEM WITH NC's. if you are taking something very rare you must replace it with something rare.
the package will be sent out in a tupperware container with a humidificaton source. make sure this box stays humidifed and in a cool area (not your 100 degree garage).
i will start the pass off with 15-20 ultra premium cigars, it will be a mix of NC and CC. all of which are top shelf. if you do not know what top shelf means then it's a good idea to ask here before joining the group.
you must post your TAKES AND PUTS. at the end of the pass the box comes back to me. if all goes well we might do another one.
any questions post them here. i will give it a week from monday to get in on this.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AT LEAST 2 PAY IT FORWARDS UNDER YOUR BELT YOU ARE NOT WELCOME ON THIS PASS. i don't care who can vouch for you, it's not going to happen with almost 200-400$ worth of cigars floating around. if i don't feel comfortable with you then you are not allowed at all.
yes i'm a hard ass but i want this done right.

this is done. maybe next time around. there is a thread on the PIF by armando (cec_tech). he gives a full explanation there.

so the auction is awaiting approval at club stogie. west and cec and whoever else has dual membership you should see it appear in the charitable section soon. please post there with your approval. i couldn't add the CC's so i guess they will stay with me to be re-gifted. over al i think we had a really good pass and i just want to thank everyone for partcipating. anytime you are in tampa hit me up and we can hit up some really great places.

it's already live on club stogie. go to the charitible forums and you will see it. i had to remove the CC's so they wouldn't get in trouble. 175 cigars is the highest bid so far but i'm sure it's far from over.
