yeah, if you can get them at 97 from a reliable non asian source i'd love to see it. 160$ is an average for european market and it's usually 120 or less for me but not 97$. plus this isn't about him, it's about you.

Hay, hay, hay , lets all just grab a smoke. The reality is that people will buy from who they want and pay what they are willing to pay. I don't see anything wrong with a guy trying to sell a few smokes, no matter what the cost. If you don't like the cost, just pass and no comment needed. No need to put a damper on a post, just because you wouldn't pay what he is asking. To say he is ripping someone off is just rude. There is no "ripoff", heres the product/ heres the price. dont like it? then buyem somewhere else.
lets see, Do you guys walk into Radio Shack and tell them they are ripping people off, because Walmart sells batteries cheaper than them? Of course not, you either buy the damn things or you go to wally world in the first place. Nuff said

maybe you don't realize what you are encouraging. there is a big difference between reasonably priced and gouging. i'd say the price difference between wal-mart and radio shack is reasonable. i do not see where someone can charge 2-3 times the value of a cigar and expect to say it's reasonable. it's not, it's gouging.
if people would stop paying gouger prices the market would flood with all the "limited production" cigars and the prices would drop. instead people like him hoard box after box to sell for 2-3 times MSRP. it's not in the spirit of the cigar community and what we represent as a brotherhood to RIP ANOTHER BROTHER OFF> you just don't get it. i will forgive you though because you are still noobish to these type of communities and probably haven't figured out what it's all about yet. money sure isn't part of it.
BTW, i recently ran into two more boxes of anejos. i asked for .40 cents more per cigar than what i paid for them. take a wild guess why?

LOL You are kidding right? LOL, I don't need your forgiveness or your condescention about how new you think I am. My knowledge, genorousity and since of " brotherhood" is more than evident on this board and a few others. BTW, there are sites that sell these smoke for 3 times the MSRP. Rip off is still not the right language to use here, neither is gouging. I'm not defending anyone, i personally don't know the seller or care, but it just out of line to say people are ripping someone off because you know a cheaper place to buy something, brotherhood or not. I would agree that if someone wants to make a buck or two off a box, this is probably not the best place to do it, as most are aware of places that have the best prices on the smoke they want.
I have some pre-embargo smokes, 1956 in fact, If I sold them for $1.00 a stick, thats a great deal ahy? I paid about 7 bucks a stick, but still they originally sold for 16 cents a piece. Did I get ripped off? should the company/person I got them from feel guilty? No. I knew what I was buying befor I signed the check. They wasn't trying to make a brother, they where trying to make a buck. Again, this is just not the best format/site to do it in.

it's sense of brotherhood not since first off. you have no idea what being a BOTL is if you are even trying to defend his pricing and saying it's not gouging. twice the MSRP FOR A CURRENT PRODUCTION STICK is gouging. all he is here for is to make a buck, nothing more. therefore he=gouger. you don't have to agree with me, you are a newb and talk exactly like one. one slippery slope arguement after another trying to defend your weak stance. you are making up scenarios that have nothing to do with the current situation posted here.

You are wrong, SELLING those sticks here is against the rules. Trying to rip good people off is just plain being a jerk, especially when you lie while doing it. By the way...you need to check your grammar. -"Those of us who row the boat are too busy to rock it"...

wow J where is your "Brotherhood"? week stance? I don't have a stance, but I can't imagine any stance being you weeker than you calling me a neebie, or better yet having nothing better to slam someone over then the way they spell.Brotherhood. WOW you registered a whole 3 month before me. If you can't grasp the meaning of the senerios in my post then I guess your concept is different then mine. Get over yourself and your holier than thou attitude! I'm not defending anyone, or their price. I said, I don't know the guy. Thats not the point.
Oh I know the point, your the defender of the BOTL, here to save and set right all the people that polute your board, being "unbrotherly". Remember, your condescending post towards me, was posted first. I didnt address you in any sort of way. The attitude in your posts dont match your "BOTL" "community" attitude.
Hope you can grasp that! and I hope I spelled everything right for ya. I would hate for you to lose any sleep.

are you mentally challenged? you did address me first as i was the first one to call him a gouger. you indirectly said all of us were rude for pointing out what he was doing as wrong.
you also don't know the difference between week and weak. your stance is pathetic, you have no ground to stand on with your argument about him not being a gouger. so you make up another slippery slope argument and hope it justifies your stance. it doesn't, he's a gouger and you are trying to say it's okay. i am condescending, i never denied that. you're an obnoxious pr*%$ who is a know it all.
i am here to defend our brotherhood. let me ask you this. what have you done to further our community? show me, then talk crap to me about it. otherwise screw off and go to cigarweakly where you belong.

J. you sir are a sorry excuse for a brother and are entirely to hypersensitive to participate on a board and yes YOU are very rude, oh great defender of the brotherhood. Wow, you sound like a newbie. If you would take the time to read my posts, you would clearly see my contribution here. better yet ask anyone that interacted with me on here, There is alot of them. Now run along and play nice. I only wish I had the opportunity to meet you and show you what a great brother I am.

elaw is a very respected member of the cigar community, jaybarbour, maybe you dont know that cause you might only post here. anyway, why jump all over the man and call him a pr--- and a noob, he just posted his opionion..
i agree with the majority of you guys here that the price is high, but if you dont like it dont buy it, plain and simple.
For the record, you cant sell cigars on ebay or else thats where i would be buying mine. The 650 a box on ebay is complete and utter BS and i will believe it until someone posts a link to cigar sales on ebay
DAMN, Im Thirsty! I want a beer, how bout you? You want a beer?

you're only half right. cigar sales are not allowed, however selling the bands with cigars attached is allowed. And that's what people do, they just put a disclaimer that you can't consume the tobacco. It's an easy loophole, so no it's not BS, and yes, anything fuente over there goes for waaaay over MSRP.
(not addressing thaterp anymore) However, if you find OPus X boxes from smaller internet retailers (by the box) you can pay over 1000 dollars if you're stupid enough.
(I'm not defending anyone, just pointing out facts, about ebay)

i post all over the forum. when someone defends price gouging and says we should just move on and ignore it then they do not understand what being a BOTL is really about. they can say they do all they want but it's not true. evil triumphs when good people do nothing. greed=evil. it does nothing but spoil the community when those who are in a good position to buy a limited production cigar abuse that position and rip other people off. if elaw wants to defend him that's fine. but he better know that he is going to get flack for it.
it's nothing besides greed that pushes the pricing of these boxes up so high. the OP bought this box so that he could make money, pure and simple. that's not a BOTL and a BOTL would sure as he11 not defend him for being that greedy.

Jay, Elaw is in no way a noob and knows more about cigars than most of us. Second, yes it is against the rules to sell cigars here, but I see what Elaw is saying. If some idiot is dumb enough to pay $650 for a box of Opus x's, we should probably question the sanity of the buyer rather than the seller. Honestly, $650 isn't bad considering actual retail shops sell them for that or even more sometimes. MSRP on these cigars is irrevalent, the market value is usually higher. Yes, there are places that sell for MSRP, but not many. Maybe the guy bought them for $600 and just wanted to get his money back? Nobody ever asked him that. Maybe his brother didn't know the MSRP for these cigars was lower and got ripped off in the first place. Point being, you don't know the guy, don't know the background, so until you get that information, relax and smoke a cigar. Don't get me wrong, I'm not angry or anything at you Jay
