I was wondering if anyone could help me with advice concerning vehicle air purifiers. My wife does not appreciate the smell of a fine cigar yet and it seems the only time that I really have time anymore to enjoy one is on the road. I would like to start smoking cigars in my vehicle and was wondering if anyone had any advice on vehicle air purifiers? Do they really work? What brand and model?
When you live in the country like me just open the windows.

The spray product "Ozium" also can hide any lingering smoke odor.
But the main things (I learned this from BinderSmokDad) is to open the driver's side front car window as much as possible due to the weather, then turn the heater on (can be heat or just blowing air) as high as you can get it), and the smoke mostly goes out the window. Then, when you get home or to a safe location, keep the driver side window down for a least an hour or more to clear out any lingering smell.
Also, to use an ashtray that doesn't belong to the car. The "road warrior" cigar ashtray is great, and you can take it out of the vehicle to empty it and wash it when you get home.
And, as Doc says, Fabreze is also great!

I just open the driver's window a crack, turn the heater/a/c on outside air, and set it so that all the air comes from the floor outlets. The smoke will all be directed out the window. The problem will not be lingering smoke so much as smell that remains in the cushions and such, this can be vastly reduced by using Fabreze.

Ride a motorcycle with a big windshield (works for me)
Seriously: all the tips previously mentioned should work...I can only add that a product called Zero Odor (white spray bottle with a large "O" on it) works well for me.
You could also try getting the wife into cigars...my wife is much more tolerant since I talked her into taking a puff or two of a Padron 6K...unfortunately, now she wants me to pick up a Drew Estates Natural Root for her once in a while (they're like smoking a chocolate bar)....but I'm embarrassed to buy the darn things ....and they definitely don't go anywhere near my humidors!
BTW: Welcome to the board....enjoy your stay.

Never had any intention of desecrating my car with cigar smoke until one of the guys here convinced me I oughta try it. Of course, now I'm using the opportunity to smoke more, especially on the way to work.
If your wife rides in the car with you, there's not much to say. If she doesn't, the ventilation and Febreze work wonders for when you're through. I pick up my son everyday after school and Febreze the seats before I go for him, he doesn't like the Febreze smell but it's better than the alternative.

This above method really works! I also never smsoked a cigar in my car until a few months ago. Now I do a few times a week, but always with the driver window open & the heater on outside air and coming from the floor. Amazing how the smoke flows out the window.
In addition to Fabreze, I recently purchased a cheap ($29.95) Csonka car unit. Got it through http://www.holts.com. It is a funny looking thing, plugs into the car lighter. It gives off ozone, yet so little that it can hardly be detected. Does help get any lingering odor out of the car.

Thanks for the info. Glad to be part of the forum. A little info about me. I currently live in Dallas, Texas. Spent several years in the Army now work for the Feds unfortunately. Travel quite frequently but lets me enjoy a good cigar on the road. Have a beautiful wife and two daughters.

BTW, my husband smoked cigars in his work truck for months and months, and the smell was horrible (I love cigars, but that stale smoke smell just has to go, its not much better than cigarrette stale smoke smell). I bought him one of the vehicle plug-in air purifiers, and we weren't sure it was working. But the next time I got in his truck, the smell was gone. He smokes all the time in there, and you can't tell at all. (I just got myself one on CBid so I can sneak a smoke in my truck from time to time.)
