Last night I smoked Camacho Maduro cigar. Tasted decent until I got to the end of the cigar. I started feeling really dizzy and and a little sick. So I come inside and lay down. Next thing I know I feel like I am going to vomit. So I head over to the bathroom and needles to say I do. After that I went to sleep and called it a night. But I do not see why that happened. Alas I am a new cigar smoker, I started about 4 months ago and this has not happened to me ever. I do not smoke cigarettes either so Cigars are new to me like I said. Your thoughts, besides me being a wuss. Has this happened to anyone in there earlier days?

couple of causes, smoking too fast is one, not eating before hand is another, it also could be the nicotine. as far as preventing this in the future, have a sugary drink with your cigar (i find most NCs pair well with soda) or down a sugar packet, dont know why but they keep you from getting sick, o and eat before hand

DAMN, Im Thirsty! I want a beer, how bout you? You want a beer?

Yeah, that is always a good move.

It's the nicotine rush. I've had it a couple of times before but I never vomited. You will get used later on. I personally like a mild rush, it's euphoric, makes me feel light and high, like the one delivered by the good old Jose Piedras.

Hi

I had a similar experience with a Montecristo no. 2. That thing was huge and it took forever to smoke it. It left me dizzy and nauseas Roll Eyes I guess we were just smoking too fast.

I HATE that feeling! cuz usually my vomitting is paired with Dry-Heeving! really ruins your night, if ya know what i mean.

Thats why the LFD Chiselito is banned from my personal list.

When I smoke I usually have a nice cold glass of ice tea. You should try it. I never smoke on an empty stomach either. Fedor, I have heard some horror stories about the LFD Chiselitos. That is why I still have the same two in my humi.

all good advice. whenever i smoke a new stick or a strong stick i pair it with either iced tea or sprite, the sweetness really helps the sickness that may come.

Just an FYI, make sure you do not inhale cigars into your lungs. That would make you sick for sure.

You inhale into your mouth and enjoy it that way. You can still get a nic rush that way but it would minimize stomach issues. Do not rush smoking a cigar it can take 30-90 minutes or more to enjoy it. Rule of thumb is one puff per minute.

A drink like coffee or alcohlic beverage will help too.

Another thing i noticed is that i can tolerate more nicotine during my FIRST smoke of the day. IF i have been smoking pretty much all day, then a BOLD/STRONG cigar is NOT a good idea for me. That helps.

Regardless, NO CHISELITO!!!!!!!!!

I don't think I've ever truly been sick from a smoke. I had a mild bout of "uneasyness" after a Cusano this weekend, but I was puffing away on it pretty good.

I'm curious on this Chiselitos now. I've never seen one around here and am intrigued.

I have never felt noxcious but I have definitely seen some "squiggly lines" in the air after a big puff of an esplendido. And if I rush it, I get the hickups at the end of a smoke. Kinda wierd.

I had a stick yesterday on an empty stomach and it really aroused my appetite.

I've never been sick off of a CC. I did get the shaky hands once smoking a HdM Petit Robusto on an empty stomach but I fixed it by eating some candy bars.

I did get sick off of a CAO Brazilia once (or was it the Italia). Regardless, I've never smoked a CAO after that.

I've gotten green around the gills a few times. It usually happens either because I smoked too fast or on an empty stomach.

My worst experience, though, was the day I smoked a Bolivar Royal Corona at lunchtime, a Monte Edmundo before dinner & what the hell, finished the day with a Monte #2. You can imagine how bad I felt; it was like seasickness from Hell. I had my @$$ handed to me on a platter. But, I learned my lesson. I will rarely smoke more than one a day & if I do, never two Habanos.

hawksfan75,
Are u an IOWA HAWKEYE fan? just curious.

Be wary of the Chiselito. It takes no prisoners my friend. If u r having one of those days in the dumps and are loathing in self pity, and are not wanting to go anywhere, then by all means, the Chiselito will help you achieve your objective, that being:

You will forget about all of your problems because u can't stop dry heeving!

have some alka-seltzer Xtra srength handy.

the taste is pretty bold and actually quite BADA BING!!! but again, you HAVE BEEN WARNED OF ITS IMMENSE POWER AND BRUTE STRENGTH.

Agreed. I don't think anyone has mentioned it but smoking in the sun when its hot out also gets me lightheaded much faster.

I've gotten sick before after smoking cigars. Got that sick feeling in my stomach then the vomitting. Man I hate that.

No matter where you go or what you want to do....there will always be something or someone in the way.

No, it's a reference to the Seahawks. Can't wait for the season to begin...

As far as the LFD is concerned, I don't think I'm quite ready. But, if I ever find one, I'll be sure to pick it up, just to have on hand when I want to spend the day dry heaving Wink

I forgot about that...sitting in the hot sun with a cigar IS NOT conducive to a pleasant experience.
