Last night i sat down to have a Padilla 8/11 Robusto. I was really excited. I clipped the cap and lit my cigar. After a few puffs I noticed the wrapper was beginning to unravel just behind the burning foot. It continuted for about 3/4 of an inch and then the uneven burn set it. One side was burning about a half-inch faster than the other. I ended up having to re-light it shortly thereafter but I gave up with a little more then half of the cigar remaining.
I searched before I wrote this and I didn't see anything in the resulting hits that could explain why this happens?
My digital hygrometer reads 62% at 68 degrees. Upon calibration I found it to be 4-6% shy of 70 so I think my humidity is OK.
Is it a storage issue? Was it a construction issue and I have no control over it? Any info would be appreciated.
Have a safe and Happy New Year.

OK so I'm an idiot (I wish this thing had spell check). If you spell it correctly, I found that my answer would be inconsistent humidity/temp. None of my 60-70 other scigars have done this in my humidor so I don't know what to make of it. I guess it may just be an unknown.

One might just be an isolated incident at the very least smoke a couple more and see what happens. Also you could try rotating your cigars once a month,I have been told this helps with uneven burn issues.

?? I don't know of any way to calibrate at 70% RH. The salt method is 75% and the Boveda Cal Kit is 75.5.
