Hey guys,
I've been getting a bitter taste with my last few cigars, and all my attempts to fix the problem had led nowhere. I have searched the forum and tried everything, but no luck. Both of my hygrometers have checked out, I smoke slow, my cigars feel perfect and burn as even as it gets. Is something wrong with my taste buds or is there something I'm missing? I have a decent amount of cigars, and I hate to think their being ruined in my humidor.I've smoked 4 different cigars now with a bitter taste and it's becoming very frustrating.

I was just about to order more CC's too, but I guess it'll have to wait Mad

Have you had a cold recently? I had a cold and not only did I have to wait for the cold to end, but a few days more for my sinuses to "get normal" again before I could smoke.

I have a brand new cold as of today. Thank goodness.

The problem may be nicotine. Sometimes brown blobs of nicotine will get to the head of the cigar.

Try clipping a little higher or take a tissue and blot away the little brown blobs so they do not get on your tongue.

How far into the cigar does it become bitter? Is it bitter from the start?

I have used a tissue to blot away the nicotine, not luck. These 4 cigars were bitter from the start, but today I was smoking a RP Sungrown and about half way through it became very bitter. Maybe my cigars are too moist, I have no idea how, but maybe I'll let one dry out a little.

Try to smoke a cigar from a shop and see if it turns bitter. At least you will know whether it is being caused by storage issues.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I'll do that tomorrow.

It doesn't happen to me often, but it did tonight. Yuck! I was out walking the dog, so I did not have a cutter at hand. I blotted the danged thing again and again on my jeans, but I couldn't get rid of the bitterness. Finally just threw the cigar away in disgust (though I did manage to suffer through about 2/3 of it!)
