I just finished this book and highly recommend it:

Complete Idiots Guide to Cigars, 2nd Edition

It is not for idiots by any measure and goes into every aspect of cigars, from growing the tobacco, construction, and smoking. I wish there were more books like this in print. Before this, I got my info from bits and pieces on websites, magazines, B&Ms. etc.

If anyone else has a good book, please post it here. I have not been able to find any.

Not cigar related but a good read all the same.

Unintended Consequences by John Ross.

Build a man a fire and he will stay warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he will stay warm for the rest of his life.

I have to agree with BrianR. Although I only glanced through it (it was only 1 of 2 cigar books at Barnes and Noble), I liked it very much. There are a lot of info in it. The other book was one of Marvin Shanken's books that had a lot of pictures and CA tasting notes. I think it makes a better coffee table read that doesn't have as much info as the Idiot's guide .

If one were truly an idiot, would one know to buy an Idiot's Guide? Just wondering...
