I saw some neigborhoods in Holland and in Southern France.
I never believed that melting pots could meld immiscible substances.

Overdramatisation... To say the least.

The Muslim population of Western Europe is around 3% (with an annual growth of about 0,3%). It is higher in France with around 5-6% (a consequence of their colonisation of Algeria). Of that percentage, only a small proportion are actually Islamists - in the negative sense of the term.

In Eastern Europe, Russia has an important Muslim population, but it is indigenous, and not due to immigration.

I was thinking you were going to show me a new line by Blancpain or Patek Phillipe. Perhaps something Bin Laden liked to wear, as he frequently has a watch on his video appearances. Is my face red.

With Euorpe's open immigration policies combined with the problems muslims have faced assimilating, you can bet that radical Islamists pose a very serious threat to Europe.

Perhaps a bit.
But overdramatization is a really a Muslim trait and not a Western one.
What with the murdering of Van Gogh, and death threats and contracts against Rushdie, threats against Hitchens, mass hate filled demonstrations and death threats because of Danish cartoons of Mohammed, 911, applauding 911, Madrid, London, Paris bombs and firebombs, airline hijackings,...I could list much more.
What are you going to say? "Yes but...crusades, inquistions, colonialism, imperialism, Zionism, petroleumism ad nauseum..."

The population growth of Islamic countries is outlandishly high.

There are a billion Muslims spanning from Morocco to Indonesia. Mostly dicatatorships, monarchies, theocracies and few failed democracies

Islamic countries treat women, minorities and infidels like crap.
Sharia law amputates, blinds and lapidates people for the most mundane things. Apostasy is punishable by death.

Here's a big question Flashman.
Do you think one could get away with 10% of the things that are said in this forum if it was in Iran? Saudi Arabia? Pakistan? Please answer truthfully.

Sure, in terms of our own Occidental criterias and way of thinking - which also may have certain inherent flaws - they may seem a centuty behind what we have achieved in the past few decades.

No.

Yet I refuse to condemn all Muslims on a generalisation.

Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan and Texas are not going too well lately are they?

Perhaps Major Malik Nadal Hasan MD was a Jihadist. Perhaps he just went crazy. Perhaps he thought he was doing god's work. Perhaps his family was threatened.

I get a feeling there is a lot of all of the above in the muslim world. Maybe not everyone is doing it but the gross majority applaud it.

In all fairness other soldiers, and people of other races and religions have gone crazy and murdered people.
