I got a box of CAO cameroon robusto's about 2 weeks ago. The first few i smoked were fine, then i had one w/ an unravelling wrapper. I dismissed it, removed the affected part of the wrapper, and smoked the rest of it "naked". I smoked a couple more incident free, and then had two more that completely unravelled. So I went back to the store and was compensated. I then sent an email to CAOinternational telling them what happened, and that i wasn't looking for free smokes since i had already taken care of that at store level, but just wanted to let them know what happened. I got an immediate reply from a woman who works there named Madonna. She was incredibly nice and asked for my address so she could "make it up to me". I have a Fed-Ex package on the way. I am very impressed with the way CAO does business especially after hearing about the way Doc was treated by Altadis. They have a smoker for life (they did anyway).
So my question is: has anybody ever compained to a manufacturer about a bad cigar (or more), and what was the response you got?

The guys and gals at Perdomo are top notch people. I have had nothing but great experiences with them. I had a few Estate Maduros that had stems in them and they promptly more than made up for the unpleasant sticks. That said, that one box was really the only bad experience I have ever had with Perdomo cigars. Great people, great cigars, and I can tell you they are truely passionate about what they do.

Since I often buy cigars and let them rest for a while, if I have an issue, it's difficult to near impossible for me to go back to the retailer. I one time emailed Perdomo on a plugged cigar and they immediately rectified the situation. Top notch in my book.
In heaven there ain't no beer, that's why I drink it here.
I found a red ribbon in one of my Reserve real R & J 's , when the heat of the cigar got to the imbedded red thread it stunk up the place, I dropped a note & the piece of red ribbom along with the band, & in a few days I recieved 4 replacements, I didnt do it for the free cigars just so they could find an adjustment in Quality Control , the 4 sticks was nice !! Enjoy, Vince

I had a plugged Torano and emailed them just to advise them of a quality issue. They sent me 4 replacements. I thought they were very easy to deal with.

Yep. I received a bundle of "crap" from CI. These cigars were rolled loosely and fell apart as you smoked them, and had almost no taste. I emailed them, and asked them not to sell any more of this brand, as it might tarnish their reputation. The President of the company responded to me personally and offered to refund my money! What a great guy! It all worked out in the end, though. I pulled a "John Wayne" and smoked 'em anyway!

I bought a box of CAO Trois Diaments from JR's a few years ago. This was a promotional cigar made for JR's by CAO. I had been a big CAO Fan up until that time and these cigars were just horrid.. I smoked a few and then e-mailed CAO who referred me to JR's. JR's told me to return the unsmoked cigars for a full refund, which I gladly did. I also received a few make up cigars from JR's.

I've been ordering from cigars.com and have done rather well with them. I asked my wife for a box of cigars that C.com had on special for Valentines day. This was her first cigar purchase. She ordered them, and the rest of the story wasn't pretty. However, Cigar.com responded imidiatly to the problems with the order and made it right. I even ended up with an extra box of cigars for the problem. They were real stand up guys, owned the problem and made it right. I couldn't have asked for a responce. I definatly will continue to buy from them.
