How come I don't hear anyone talk about gurkha much or see them really talked out on the forums? I've only been on the forums for about a week or two, but it seems like gurkha is a newer company? Or perhaps their cigars are just not good? I personally love them, the best cigar I have had so far is the regeant.

So what's the deal?

That is what makes this place great. Different tastes. Gurkha is a nice cigar. Not my fav, but works.

I think it's because a lot of people don't care for them. I like a Regent at Cigarbid prices, but not at MSRP. I don't care for any of the other Gurkha cigars.

Hey Draygonia,
How do you like Alaska? I've been in the Air Force almost ten years, Jan 14th is my ten year mark. Gurkhas are all about marketing, definately not as good as a lot of others like Tatuaje, Padrons, Pepin's, Olivas and the list goes on and on. IMHO, they are overpriced and not near the quality of many cheaper sticks. I've never had one but almost anyone I know steers clear of them.

Because Torano blends Gurkha and then they charge a ridiculous MSRP. If I want a torano i just go get a Torano for a couple of bucks.

"Cuban seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Cuba. The wrapper would be from Cuba. The binder leaves would be from Nicaragua. For the ligero tobacco in the filler, he would use two types, one from Esteli and the other from Jalapa in Nicaragua. The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Rio. That Cigar, he says with pride, would score 100 points."

The Regent box pressed is one of my favorites.

Cbid is a good place to get your gurkhas. Anyways, i find their tag like "the rolls royce of cigars" a bit too arrogant.

Its all presentation, not to say that Gurkha isn't a great cigar. But you're paying extra for the box/bottle.

Ah, its nice I guess, Im only an airman, but meh, ill make it up the ladder soon enough.

I like gurkha simply because they are something to brag about as far as price. I guess its like people who spend 10x the price on clothing just to talk about how much they paid?

I personally like gurkha, but ill try other cigars. I Get them cheap, I got about 60 gurkhas for 200 bux? Something like that.

I never want to buy a cigar simply because of price. As for the clothes analogy? I wear Hugo Boss, because it fits me well, not because of price tag. They dont have a logo or anything to show off.

Gurkha's are a fairly decent cigar. I'll smoke 'em if I get them in a PIF, gift or off cbid, but IMHO they're not worth the retail prices. There are much better smokes for the same or less. $3-$5 is a good price range for most Gurkhas

If you use the SEARCH function before posting, you'll find that 99.999% of what you'd like to discuss already had an active thread.

There are dozens of threads involving Gurkha cigars -- just search and you can read all of them.

BTW -- Gurkha is a joke.

That is an opinion. Some people really like their cigars. So if 99.99% of the stuff has already been posted, we should have NO new threads then.

I am not qualified to judge the Gurkha line since I have never smoked one, however I do have a 5-pack sampler resting in the humidor.

They might taste good, or even great, but I do not like aggressive ad campaigns from companies like Gurkha and CAO. It seems like they are trying to sell you an image rather than letting the products speak for themselves. In addition to that, every time I pick up a Gurkha to smell it before smoking it, I get turned off by what smells like dirty sweaty athlete's foot flavor coming from the cigar. :/

I would never accuse anyone, especially you, of lacking intellect.

By the way -- "you're" is the correct possessive form of "you are."

You're welcome.
