Unfortunately you are screwed. The thing is to bring along some cigars in the size you like to smoke and try them in the case you want to buy. Also, it has been my opinion that the sewn finger cases are less versatile. If you have a pyramid or other odd shaped cigar, the contoured cases are more accomodating.
I have an Ashton that holds everything I smoke perectly. Why? Because I walked around the cigar shop trying every size cigar imaginable to see if they would fit. The guys in the shop didn't mind (I asked first) and in fact decided to recommend that to their customers in the furture. Seems they had been getting some returns lately.
If you bought it locally and haven't mangled it yet, see if they will let you exchange it for a bigger one. If not, consider it a lesson learned and try to like smoking smaller cigars.
Also, NEVER believe web descriptions regarding ring gauge. Most of these are way wrong. I saw two cases advertised as 54 ring capacity and when I actually tried putting a cigar in them, a 48 ring robusto was a snug fit.
