That is where I will be going in September. I have never gone before. Me my wife and sister and her husband will be going. It's all our first time. So I was wanting to get some suggestions on what hotel to stay at. We will do a fair share of gambeling but I also want to get around and check everything out. So I kinda want to be at the center of everything. Can you guys reccomend some hotels that our not to expensive since we will be there 5 nights! I also want to visit the fuente cigar shop. I am exicted yet it's so far away. Please any suggestions would be very appreciated.

That has to be in the running for longest post ever. Can you edit that and link to it.
Start checking out deals on travelocity. You'll want the south end(new area) of the strip.
Have dinner at Joe's in Caesars,
Keller's Bouchon at Rio.(off strip), with a wild casino with dancers being moved around the ceiling on rails. Also have an all you can eat lobster and king crab buffet.
Buffet at Bellagio is supposed to be the best in town(and best hotel).
I always try to stay at/near caesars for close access to Casa Fuente. Vision turned me on to Joe's by the way and it is awesome. You will not be disappointed...
I'm going in August, I'd like to hear some feedback from everyone here as well. I know all about Casa Fuente, I'm certainly going to pick up two of the Casa Fuente house cigars. One to smoke and one to keep in the collection.
So what is there to do in Vegas besides gambling and shows?
Well, you are absolutely fortunate to be choosing this time to go to Vegas. With the recession, Vegas has seen a huge drop off in the number of tourists. Room rates are down, so you'll be able to stay for cheaper or upgrade to a suite. I've always liked Luxor and Mandalay Bay because of their low prices and in Mandalay's case, the quality. But you may find that they are too south on the strip. Up a bit north, there is MGM Grand and Paris that I like, Caesar's is always great but their prices are always a little high. Moving up north, Bellagio, Venetian and Wynn are all fanastic, but all very expensive.
I know I skipped a bunch of hotels... probably the best thing to do is find which ones that interest you and sign up for their email specials.
Definitely visit Casa Fuente at Caesar's (i'll be there in 2 weeks). I'm also interested in visiting Rhum Bar which recently opened at Mirage. Of course the Vegas on the Strip experience puts a very high premium on cigars, so bring your own to save cash. If you want to grab some cigars during your stay, I suggest Pheasant Cigars among several off strip that offer a very nice selection and a great place to smoke.

Speaking of gambling, make sure you don't throw all your money away on slots. They are a bad bet to start with, and have gotten even tighter this year.

I can't add much that hasn't already been shared. However, if you're a craps player, the Casino Royal (I recall it being very close to the Imperial Palace) has 100X odds on craps.
Mandalay Bay has a great breakfast buffet.
If you want cheap table games, go to SlotAFun next to Circus Circus. They have $3 blackjack, and $3 Let it Ride. $3 Let it Ride is great...you're really looking to hit the big hands (rather than JJ or better up to 3 of a kind) so no need to go big on this game.
I believe Stratosphere gives the best or one of the best payouts for blackjack (not the 6/5 junk).
Casa Fuente is a must.
I've seen a lot of shows in Vegas, but a memorable show recently was LOVE at the Mirage.
For cheap(er) entertainment, I really enjoy the stand-up comedy shows. The three places that I've gone to are the Comedy Stop (Tropicana), Improve (I think it's Imperial Palace), and there's one at the Riviera (it's the lamest of the three).
Have a great trip. You'll have a blast.
Oh yeah, don't blow all the money the first night!
go to casa fuente in Ceaser's. Get a Mojito while you are there

The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Rio. i'm right now looking at "spring/summer 2009 visitors guide" published by the convention and visitors authority
call 702-892-0711 and have them send you one - it contains all the useful data and an events calendar thru dec 09 PLUS maps and other useful stuff - it seems quite comprehensive
Remember that since 2007, smoking has been banned in most places in Nevada -- casino floors, stand-alone bars, tobacco shops, strip clubs and brothels are exempt. So absent restaurant smoking sections, most tourists won't notice.
In practice, enforcement is spotty, and many bars off the Strip do not enforce the ban.
In the casinos, technically, it's illegal noww to smoke in the bathrooms, for example, but you'll still see plenty of tourists do it and some places have not removed their urinal ashtrays.
