I was out for a sunday drive, and I didn't bring enough cigars! I am still testing the brands so I stopped in at the local mall (since all the shops were closed around here) and I picked up a h. upman tubo from hudson news, half way home, I take it out and light it up. I notice the wrapper was so dry it was cracking all the way up the cigar! It was fresh from the aluminum tube, how could it already be dry?
I almost thought about driving back and demanding another one, but it was only a couple bucks and wasn't worth turning around. Needless to say I was most disappointed, so much for the sealed tube theory.
I was on vacation in Gulfport, Miss. and bought (I think it was) a Dunhill in a tube. Next day I opened it up and it had MITES! Thank God I didn't put it in my humidor!

I once bought a 3 pack and one of them had a little mold, oddly enough it hadn't spread to the other 2. I didn't return it, but I mentioned it to my buddy at the cigar store and he gladly let me choose a free replacement.
beetle hole I can understand, HOwever, I dont see grounds for returns being issued under the second 2 pretenses....If a stick unravels, it could very possibly be the buyers fault for cutting off more than the cap.........as far as plugged sticks, if theyre kept at the proper humidity by the vendor, it isnt his fault the stick was plugged....as with anything handmade theres going to be some variability......I wouldn't ask the vendor for a replacement as I think its an unfair request
not flaming at all, just my .02$

Some suppliers will give us our money back for beetle holes. A good shop should make it right if you mold or any other problem if you are a regular. We have to be careful of just giving anybody an exchange though. There are a lot slick people out there. What if you let your humidor dry out and take a few sticks to the local guy and say "Hey I bought these from you two days ago and look how dry they are, I want replacements."
...come in here dear boy, have a cigar, you're gonna go far.....

I've only returned one stick. It was a Padron Magnum and it was plugged. I told the guy that it was smokeable, but just needs work. He told me that he will exchange it, even when I didn't even bring that up! A great store owner always does anything to make sure their customers are happy.

I returned a few cigars to JR's (store not website) and got very good service. They let me pick out whatever I wanted up to the value of the returned sticks. I was very happy with the service I got.

I got a sampler from CigarBid that had beetles in it. I actually could see the suckers crawling around. It was on only one of the sticks and it was in cellophane. CigarBid promptly sent me another complete sampler. I had to send them back the original sampler in the box of the second one with a return UPS label they sent me.

I've never returned a stick. I guess I've had good luck, but the biggest problem I've had is a plugged cigar, and not very many of those. I just pierce them(i.e. Drawpoker) and usually all is well. I don't think I would take one back either unless it cost over $7 - and then just because of the price (I'm in college).
