Saturday night..means Hockey Night in Canada...and all is well! The Leafs win! The Habs lose!
To go with my great mood, I smoked a cuban Partagas, PSP2. Not to be confused with the Sony PSP...this is not a toy...oily, dark, and strong partagas flavour...love'em!

The 858 was very much like an Ashton VSG (which to me is not as complex as I would like) until the last third of the smoke where it portrayed *some* complexity. Tonight I had a Perdomo Lot 23 Robusto with some Bloody Maries and I have to say these cigars are the diamond-in-the-ruff. The Lot 23s just kick it up a notch with their peppery-caramel flavor and perfect construction, burn and draw. I really love these smokes. Perdomo is making a comeback and to me, they have turned themselves around lately.
Could be the Oban.
You know, I think that’s it. I always remembered the VSGs as a different smoke, but for some reason the last two I've had seemed a bit one-dimensional. And the last two I smoked were both with strong flavored single malt scotches. I’m going to start paying more attention to what I drink with my smokes. My recollection seems to reveal that when I have vodka drinks with my smokes, I taste more of the smoke than I do with scotch.

Had the smoke i'd really been saving for a birthday cigar, my first Opus X, a double corona. it was fantastic and went quite well with some poker and good friends
