Hi there,

It's been years since I posted anything here. A lot has changed.

I'm looking for a good, reliable online dealer with the best prices. The best prices I've found so far is at Pay-less Cigars.

I've only ordered from Peretti's out of Boston. Good product and quick delivery, but the prices are a bit high.

Any suggestions?

Adam

I don't have that much experience with on-line ordering but I've been satisfied with "Famous Smoke Shop" out of Easton Pa.

Received my order fom them in 1 day via UPS Regular Ground Service. I was satisfied with the price, speed at which I received my order, and the condition of my merchandise.

They'll definitely get my business again the next time I'm ready to order.

The best overall (with huge selection of cigars and accessories):

www.jrcigar.com

And here is an online retailer that has top quality cigars at unbelieably inexpensive prices:

www.cheapercigars.com

And for best service (especially on the phone):

www.holts.com

Yes I have. Never a ton, but I spent a lot of time on CA back in ...98? 97? I'm not sure exactly, but it's not really important.

I got into cigars through humidors - I built one for my father-in-law and then one for a friend, and so on.

While trying to find stuff about humidors, I got more and more into cigars. I became friends with a guy who managed a cigar store here in Halifax, and have been a devoted cigar smoker ever since.

I fell out of surfing the web for cigar info as I became more comfortable with what I'd learned and established my tastes - I became less obsessive about the subject.

I used to read CA and Cigar Nexus a lot. Nexus is gone now, I guess.

Now I've got a renewed interest in getting retail info on non-Cuban brands as my friend has left the cigar business and the prices in the Canadian market are beyond all reason. Getting cigars from Cuba through travelers is the only way to get them (and even they are getting pricey).

So now, I'm looking to find good avenues to obtain non-cubans through the mail, to get my stock up.

Thank you, and everyone else for the suggestions. If anyone has any more, please keep 'em coming.

Happy Smoking.

Adam

I haven't had much on-line experience purchasing cigars, I had used cigar.com before, they offer wholesale and retail. The people I talked to were really helpful in getting what I wanted and accomodated me with any of my questions. They're not the cheapest site though, so if that is something that concerns you I would check out some of the other sites the people here have been suggesting.

I didn't know JR's was in PA.

The only reason I tried CI was because I happened into their retail store once.

I use JRCigars for most of my orders. Have had good luck with CI, Holts, Atlantic Cigars and Cigar Bid. Never had any problem with these sites. Atlantic's prices are very good but they tend to be out of what I want frequently.

I like Mikes and Holts. But I'm sure there are many others. These two have just given me great service at a reasonable price.

cheapercigars.com works great. I bought a box of Torano Silver Torps for $73 while holts and famous want like $115 or some god awful amount. They arrived in 3 days. JR's has great service and decent prices if they carry what you're looking for. I find CI to have mostly the same crap as JR's. Looking through CI the catalogue, I think I only recognized a handful of brands.

My all time favorite is the LCDH in Oklahoma City, but I can't list these illegal sources here.

I have found Cigars International, JR Cigars and Holt's to be my dynamic trio. All three have good prices on name brands, reliable websites with real time inventories, occasionally awesome specials and good customer service. If Holt's is too high on something, I try JR's, if JR's doesn't have it, I try CI, etc. Between the three I am able to get every cigar I want, except of cources CC's.

Also Holt's is one of the most reliable online retailers for hard to find stuff like Opus, Padron Anniversarios, Fuente DC's, VSG's etc. You have to talk to an operator though because they don't list everything online, but you can get them if they have them.
