The new year is two weeks away! What do you plan on smoking on New Years Eve or New Years Day? I'll be with my gf, so likely I won't be able to smoke. Nevertheless, I'll try my hardest to have a cigar. Here are the candidates:

Padron 1926 40th Ann.
Cohiba Esplendidos
Cohiba Piramides 2006 EL
Hoyo de Monterrey Double Coronas

What do you plan on smoking? It'll be interesting to compare this to Doc's 1/1/08 thread.

My bride and I will be attending one of those package evenings (dinner, New Year's Eve celebration, room and brunch) but the hotel is non-smoking (except our room and I'm not going to sit in the room to enjoy a stick on NYE). So my special cigar(s) will wait for New Year's Day. And although my few CCs are precious the candidates are:

Monte #2
Cohiba Sublime

Possibly a Monte #2 after brunch and a Davidoff Anniversario #3 or Avo 80th before/after dinner.

My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

I've put aside a few big ones for the New Year, but haven't decided yet which one among them is for the New Year's Eve:

Cuaba Salomones (the most likely candidate)
Partagas Churchull de Luxe
PG Reserva Exclusiva Churchill
CAO Sopranos Boss

And for one of the first days of the 2008 my first Trinidad Ingenios EL 2007 a box of which I got today!

Not quite sure what I am going to be doing yet or what cigars I will smoke. I might go with the Rocky Patel Decades that I was sent or break out the Fuente Opus X that I have. I know Christmas I probably won't get a smoke in so I'm going to save something special for New Years Eve and New Years Day whereever I am.

Too far ahead for me to plan. I usually go for the spontaneity method.

New Years Eve will probably be an Opus X of some sort. I will be home, in the den as I am most evenings.

This is a good question.

One of these 3:
1) Opus X forbidden
2) Padron 1924 Piramide maduro
3) Monti A (from 1997)

I'm going back & forth between:

OpusX 2004 ForbiddenX
Cohiba Esplendido
Padron 80th

All three are long, magnificent smokes that will force me to slow down and contemplate the years - past and future

So many cigars, so little time...

Probably robusto sized or smaller New Year's Eve, maybe a HdM Epi #2 or PSD4. New Year's day though is another story. Probably looking at a MC#2.

'97 Monte A? That's got to be a great smoke. Personally I bloody hate new year (probably because I never get invited to any of the good parties), But i'll take the opportunity to have one of my 'big' smokes. Cohiba EL 2006 or partagas EL 2000

When I first bought the box in Cuba these cigars where as green as banana leaves. But a after a few years they really started to develop into incredible smokes. Now they are just downright decadent smokes, and I only have 5 or 6 left.

If my high school buddy shows up for New Years eve this will be our smoke, along with El Dorado 21 year old rum and some single malts.

I had a Partagas EL 2000 Piramide the other day and it was incredible. And the Cohiba EL 2006 is almost as good. Great choices for NYE.

Great Topic.. AS a new smoker, I have the problem of - Do I go with one I know I like, or try a new one that everyone else likes? Maybe even try to get a hold of my first cuban? Hmmm.... Confused

I haven't tried any of the ones I listed, so I'd say be adventure-some. It's a perfect time for that first CC!
