Well I just finished a St Luis Rey Series G, and enjoyed it, although I have noticed something and would like some feedback.
It seems that the first third of the cigar goes pretty fast and is not as enjoyable as the following 2/3. The amount of smoke, the taste, and the burn seem to be much better the further I get into the cigar. Most times I get the best taste and richness in the last part of a stick.
Is it me or the cigar?

Both. A good cigar will change gears at different points due the blend of tobacco.

"Cuban seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Cuba. The wrapper would be from Cuba. The binder leaves would be from Nicaragua. For the ligero tobacco in the filler, he would use two types, one from Esteli and the other from Jalapa in Nicaragua. The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Rio. That Cigar, he says with pride, would score 100 points."
