Hello everyone, I was wondering where abouts in Los Angeles do people go and lounge to enjoy their smoke? I also wanted to know if any are intrested in getting together to enjoy a few smokes at a local cigar shop/lounge and maybe do a cigar review or 2 where we all try to smoke the same cigar and give our thougt's and opinions on it, or just hang out for some good company, conversation and a little relaxation and maybe some poker (although it causes more stress for some then anything, so maybe not.). So what do any of you think? Let me know, cause I have a few good spots in mind to help start it off.
Thanks for your time, Manuel S.

I don't live in LA anymore, but I'm down there about 2-4 times a month. I used to go to the Cohiba lounge at the Howard Hughes Promenade, right off the 405. I know it's not LA but I know there is a place in Montebello, I think, that's supposed to be a nice lounge also. When I come down, I'm normally in the Inland Empire, but I'd be willing to swing into LA to enjoy a smoke with some new friends.
Virtually impossible in my area, considering Ontario and NY States anti smoking rules. It could be done outside but the weather here for six months of year is awfull. Maybe we could get Arnold to run for Prime Minister of Canuckistan!

Hello, my first post, and a new member. I understand there is a smoke shop in Fullerton. I hear its real nice.. perhaps a 'Get Together' there would be nice and convient to most SoCal members. Barry
I would be game for something like this. I will be in and out of La Habra beginning the first week of December. Fullerton would be great, and I can travel around some if necessary.

Hey guys, I know of a few great places, I have a spot in Bev Hills that is great, low key and very relaxing. Also 3 in Old Town Pasadena and and one out in Manhattan beach. I know of Havana House in Whittier but its more of a loud club hang out with to much testosterone and have never been to Cohiba in HH center and will go check it out to see if they can accommodate us. Let's try to get something stared for the 1st or 2nd week of Dec. What do you all say? Also what nite would work for most? Possibly a Thur.? Well Let me know so we can all work something out. Remember this is open to everyone with a good attitude. Once again thanks for your time.
Manny.

What place are you talking about in Montebello?
There is also a cigar shop/lounge in South Pasadena on Fair Oaks, which happens to be next door to Gus's BBQ, which is a great resturant.

Maybe we can get an LA./NY. thing going. While we wont all be in the the same state we can have 1 person lead each group on a particular day and coordinate what smoke to try and possibly a video chat to get to know one another (Maybe a bit much but just a thought). So what do you all think? How about starting a list of all intrested in?

jmurillo, I was talking to a friend today and he corrected me. The place I was referring to was the Havana House in Whittier. I haven't been, but my buddy knew some people there.

Pasadena would be great for me.
Havana House, I have heard of that place, I have never been. There is one in uptown Whittier and one in Alhambra. It's not a place for real cigar smokers, it's more of a club/bar/meat market geared to the "I just turned 21" crowd. I would not think they would have a great selection based on this, and thier prices are probably set for people who have never bought cigars before.
This is one place where I would not have a problem taking in my own sticks and smoking them. It's probably not a bad place to do this and have a few drinks and check out the kittens. Oh, and by the way, a guy at work says he has been to the one in Whittier and says the guy there sells "Cubans" to the customers, so that pretty much sums it up.

Anyone living around the most dangerous city Detriot would like to have a meet up that would be cool too, mainly the Royal Oak area for you Michiganders.
I think it would be a cool thing to have a weekly meetings of the cigars around the US.

Yup. The Cohiba store in Culver City is nice, but it's really small. I used to bring my own sticks and go to the Fox Sports Grill in Irvine. The have a beautiful semi-outdoor smoking area upstairs. It has this massive round firepit. Anyway, I want to try someplace new.
As far as everyone here in LA. I will suggest The Cigar club (In Beverly Hills) for the first meet. Its a great place along with a well stocked bar and good selection of smokes. So what do all the people in here inrested think? Also what nite would work best for all? I hope we can get at least 5 people out for this. So let me know.
Manuel S.

If interested please feel free to e-mail me at lionfish323@yahooDOTcom so I can make a distribution list and also see what kind of sticks we can start off with. Almost forgot! There is an Italian resturant nextdoor that we can order from and eat inside while we smoke or after.
Thanks for your time, Manuel S.
