I really wanted to figure out how to obtain cuban cigars for my 30th birthday which is coming up in a couple weeks, but didn't really happen. So now I'm trying to figure out what is the next best thing - as in something that is going to impress the crap out of people. What is the most prestigous cigar a person can legally get their hands on that would be appropriate for an "nothing but the best" themed 30th birthday party?

Either of the above responses would work...the Padron 45 is just an amazing smoke

I'd go with a Padron 80th. As good as the Family Reserve, in my opinion, but a better looking cigar. The perfecto shape will impress.

Ahh to be 30 again. On my 50th birthday I smoked from 7:00 Am to Midnight finishing so many cigars that I don't remember them all. The grand finale was an Opus A.

If I had it to do over again I think I would start with a Cuban Monte #2, enjoy a Partagas Lusitania and finish with that Opus A.

Personally I don't give a crap whether someone is "impressed" with what I smoke. I'd rather smoke something that impresses *me* with it's taste.

I don't have a ton of experience and am very much still a noob, but the best NC I've smoked so far is a tatuaje. I've got some padrons waiting for me in my humidor that I'm expecting to make me sockless.

The best CC I've had so far is the Choix Supreme I got in a PIF, but then I've only had two different CCs so far (both were excellent).

Make sure you smoke a Padron 26, 64, 40th, or 80th if you can. On my 30th I smoked a PAM 64 A and got another as a gift on my 30th that i am going to smoke on my 40th

"Cuban seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Cuba. The wrapper would be from Cuba. The binder leaves would be from Nicaragua. For the ligero tobacco in the filler, he would use two types, one from Esteli and the other from Jalapa in Nicaragua. The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Rio. That Cigar, he says with pride, would score 100 points."

Agreed. Do not shy away from the natural line as well. Extremely good.
