Good Lord what a mess.

Red is bad, Blue is good. Revolutionary Communist robots (complete with clenched red pig-iron upraised fist logo!) are basically harmless and only want the best for everyone. Evil pro-military politician bad guy has "Now is not the time for Change" campaign theme, opponent is a green hippie. Capitalist bad guy (different character) willing to sacrifice anyone or anything to make a buck.

So here's me on the drive home explaining the concept of propaganda to my four kids, attempting to avoid saying things like "what a load of sh1t". "No kids, Communist revolutionaries are not harmless, they are responsible for enslaving and killing over 100 million of their own people. No kids, American military generals are by and large pretty good people, in fact the salt of the earth in some cases." Etc.

Can't wait for Astro Boy II featuring Che T-shirt-wearing robots fighting off evil doctors performing unnecessary cancer screenings.

Buy some old cartoons, they're great, even for adults.

Maybe some old b/w south pacific war movies?

You have to control what your kids watch nowadays.
