When we elect a president who will not pledge his allegiance to the flag and his wife says that this is the first time she has been proud to be an American? What a disgrace
How am I out of touch when I say that Im a proud American and my president should be proud to say the pledge of allegiance? If you dont feel the way I do maybe you should move out of the country Mr. Cohen. And yes I did vote this year.

I don't think that is what Steve meant. I took it as people in this country don't care if you say the pledge of allegiance anymore. And they certainly don't care if this is the first time you are proud of your country. Very sad indeed.

The pledge as originally written, or after Eisenhower and his ilk got in and altered the pledge?
Now that it is done, and this country is obviously not going to be a place where you want to live, you should leave.

You my friend are hopelessly out of touch with the American population. My advice: move to Alaska.
Stephen, cut the crap.
There are people who have concerns about an Obama presidency. Newsflash. THRE ARE 50+ MILLION OF US.
From you condescending comments from racial insults telling me that I am lying about being Jewish you display a lot of intollerance for a so called liberal progressive.

Have your concerns about Obama but the pledge stuff and Michelle Obama's comment shouldn't be on the top of your list. Let's see what he can do and hope for the best.

You may mean, Obama not wanting to put his hand on his heart during the pledge; and not wanting to wear a flag pin, being forced to.
I also am having a hard time imagining a first lady(educated in the Ivy League) who only became proud of her country when her husband ran for president and says things in public like "black people will wake up" in referring to blacks supporting Hillary over Obama in the primaries. Obama using phrases like "typical white person" also alarms me, but not the majority of voters it seems.
