Why would they even post this on CA. I know a lot of people buy these things, but what does it have to do with Cigar AFICIONADO?

When I dont have time for a real cigar I will smoke a Backwoods over a Black and Mild any day. But still, has nothing to do with Cigar Aficionado.

It's actually a good question, and we debated whether we should post the news or not. Black and Milds aren't premium cigars, after all, and our focus is on premium, handmade cigars.

In the end we decided that since we cover the cigar business here on CigarAficionado.com, news of a major player in the cigar business being acquired was worthy of a short news piece. We opted not to put it in our editorial well, but we did put it on the news bar.
