Hey Guys,
I hope this remains as HELP and doesn't turn into BEWARE!!
Several months ago, I purchased the Holt's Savoy Mahogany 6-Drawer Humidor. I followed the instructions word for word for the seasoning with the distilled water, filling the humidification devices provided with solution and letting it sit for several days before putting my cigars in there.
Since that very first day of seasoning, the humidity level has never been over 60% on the dial built into the device. Holt's now tell me that this is pretty much decorative. Thanks for telling me now Holt's!! But I am having issues with my pretty large cigar stockpile cracking. The humidification devices they included are full of solution and I keep them that way, but the level never goes above 60%.
What can I do? I have alot of cigars in there and don't want to lose them.

You need a digital hygrometer.

Humidorts with drawers are very difficult to keep in proper humidity as drawers need to slide and they have huge gaps that allow humidity to escape.

Do yourself a favor and buy a standard humidor or your cigars will all dry out.

Yea You need to get a digital hyrgrometer. ALSO the humidification device it came with is probably not sufficient, so you need to get a Couple of Xikar Gel Humidifiers, or get some Heartfelt Beads. I like to use both of these. these should send you to the 70% humidity mark. If this doesnt work, try re seasoning your humi, by wiping down the insides with distilled water.

First thing your should have done was consult these forums or another forum before buying. Thats what I did and trust me it saves alot of trouble.

Other than that what the 2 above me posted is what you need to do.

As mentioned above, ditch the original humidification devices and get some Heartfelt beads. Also get a couple digital hygrometers to monitor RH on different levels. According to how large the humidor is, you may need a Cigar Oasis or some such device just to circulate the air.
