Saul made the observation today that he's never seen so many people from NJ in one place.
Being inspired by the NE Sit-Down and possible Hurricane Herf, O Man and I thought a NJ Get Together would be in order. We're thinking the Central/North Central area maybe in May/June. It's very preliminary at this point.
What's the interest of those in NJ/NY?

We're looking into a couple and are open to suggestions. There's a couple of cigar friendly restaurants around and we live by JRs in Whippany. They've got a nice lounge.
Do you have any suggestions?

The Ashes website says it is a members club. It is exactly what we're looking for, though. Maybe a "member" can sponsor the herf. There are a few cigar friendly bars in Union/Morris County area that are nice, and a local shop with a "members club" (leather couches, big screen tv, etc) that may be open to a little extra promotion. I figure whatever venue that agress to hold it will be looking a profit driven enterprise and will want to make some money on cigars, drinks or food.
Suggestions are welcome.

From what I was told about Ashes by my friend, the resturant and bar area are open to the public...they have an upstairs part that is for memebers only...leather couches, private bar, etc. I'll talk to her for more info...also I plan to go there soon so I will check it out then...and if worse comes to worse, I'll buy the membership...its only a dollar a day.

I live near exit 6 and work near exit 8, so pretty much anywhere in NJ is OK for me. I'll be there, just name the when and where. I say we should also extend the invite to any NY and PA residents who can get there.
I've been to Ashes and it is a very nice place. Huge walk-in humidor with a very good selection. Only problem is that the cigars they sell are very pricey. They have a good bar and great food but once again....very expensive. Once in awhile they will have live music which is nice. As far as being a member, you can become a member which entitles you to a humidor locker which is monitored by an employee to assure that everything is kosher. When I was there we just hung out at the bar and drank beer. Too smokey to eat anything. The women are very hot and plenty of them. I think we should pick another spot. JR is an option. Smoker's Delight in Union is pretty nice but the seating arrange is a bit goofy. What other places could we go?
A beautiful blonde, smokin a cigar walks by me and I think to myself, "What a nice ASH!!"
