I just ordered Heartfelt beads and this sleak looking hygrometer. I'm still researching on the cooler. I've read that Coleman insulates and keeps cool the best. That is a big factor since it gets hot where I live in the summer which is also why I need a coolerdor instead of a big tupperware like the ones of cigar-monkey and ECord. I might not line the coolerdor with Spanish cedar as I'll be keeping boxes in there, but if need to, I think I'll use velcro for the cedar strips.

Pretty slick hygrometer!

Should have got this one. It can be calibrated.

SteveSur, that is nice and all, but its not wireless. The whole idea is to be able to monitor the conditions inside without opening it and compromising the environment inside.

Hello All,

This is my first post after lurking around for months....so greetings from Vienna, Austria.

I have a question that you Vets could help me out with. I got a delicious delivery from friends who visited Dubai (boxes: Monte 2, Monte Edm. and RASS + 3 sticks Epicure 2).
So I packed the whole lot, (along with my other cigars), put them into a coleman coolidor, armed with a CO XL Plus and a bag of 65% beads.
I will be getting a wireless hygro/thermometer soon so the ladies don't wake up everytime I open the coolidor.

Now the problem is: I do not have power access in the cellar and I wanted to know if anybody has had experience with using other types of battery packs (like the ones used on remote control cars - rechargeable), instead of the CO XL + battery pack.

Thanks for your help.

coolfx, I've been using 1 pound of 65% Heartfelt beads for humidification for about six months now with no problems. So if you can't find a suitable battery, plenty of beads will work just fine.

WoW! This thread alone is worth the price of admission. I'm getting quite an education here and I love it. I'm starting on my humi this weekend.
