Eye almost didn't believe it when eye saw this thread near the top.
For some reason it was one of the first I read when I happened upon these forums (after ones about seasoning a humi). you started something that became entertaining even for those of who weren't around when this started. It may have even spread to other threads on here...... but not yet to the one about Don Eyemus!

You will notice that this is probably the meanest forum in the world. Forget about cigars, etc. Many of the people here are just plain mean bastards who have no regard for personal feelings, opinions, etc. If you express an opinion that is not in line with theirs, make any negative remark about Cigar Afic. magazine or say you are not a big fan of Cuban cigars it is like you just punched Jesus himself. You simply will be ripped a new A-hole
Now, don't get me wrong, the majority of the folks here are genuinely nice and interested in helping you. And I have many "friends" who I count on for solid advice. But there are many bad apples who just like to rip and ridicule for their own personal satisfaction. Small minds with even smaller opinions.
For example, don't ever ask about cigar beetles, white dust on your cigars or humidity levels. You will get your ass burnt by MANY, MANY people. Calling you a NEWBIE, telling you to learn how to use the search feature and other assanine statements such as that. These people don't recall when they first started and had no idea about cigars or such things.
Also, CA has a sister publication, Wine Spectator, that also has the same type of people on thier forums. It kinda goes hand in hand.
None of the other wine/cigar forums that I belong to have the same animosity and personal hatred as these two. You just watch, I will get blasted and attacked for posting this. They will take my words, put them in little quote marks and throw it back in my face all because I say the truth and disagree with thier little fifedom.
My suggestion is to scour the site, make friends with those guys who actually care about helping others and finding the information you need in other formats. There are SO many cigar forums that are unbelieveably helpful don't get hung up on this place if you don't have to.
But also, don't let X number of jerks ruin it for you or the rest of us.
Welcome to the boards and keep your head low. The attacks will begin shortly - just watch
You rotten, TINY SOB! Who said anything about a d-EYE-et? I'm 210 lbs of raw steel and sex appeal, baby! Yeah, EYE'm not a newbie, EYE've been taking the abuse here for some time.. But EYE like it!!! After my second post, EYE did get attacked, and rightfully so. It got heated, but EYE took it in stride and fired back, earning respect along the way. EYE'm by no means a cigar newbie either. EYE have been smoking for 10 years, and enjoy only the finer cigars. (unlike some people who enjoy dog rockets,TIM!) : ) So EYE say this... OPEN FIRE! I don't mine people taking potshots at me. Just expect me to return fire... FAST! Touche'!!!!
