Look, of course we discuss cigars. But as was said, this is like a virtual cigar lounge, but without the eye candy and booze.
I am a big participator in the political discussions, which I like because I can talk about it pretty civilly, with people like Metatron who are much smarter than me.
But we all have a common thread, in that we are cigar smokers, and that makes this a better place (for me) to talk about things than a political board.
Okay?
Yes, we are a little harsh on new guys...but it seems everyone posts the question (I thought this was cigar talk?"....) sooner or later.
Guess we'd like them to spend some time seeing how things are around here before they start offering criticisms.

The goal of the “liberals”—as it emerges from the record of the past decades—was to smuggle this country into welfare statism by means of single, concrete, specific measures, enlarging the power of the government a step at a time, never permitting these steps to be summed up into principles, never permitting their direction to be identified or the basic issue to be named. Thus, statism was to come, not by vote or by violence, but by slow rot—by a long process of evasion and epistemological corruption, leading to a fait accompli. (The goal of the “conservative” was only to retard that process.) -----Ayn Rand,

I now will defend Thompson Cigar Co. against any and all naysayers!!! Such is my vow!!
Damn, mike! Those posts sounded like an interview for warden of Abu Ghraib (strike that: it's a political comment).

To the person(s) who questioned the political posts in Cigar Talk, political posts are welcome in this forum. If you want to talk about something else, start a thread about something else. If you want to go after the other posters, you'll find yourself out of the forum.
Thanks.
