quote:Welcome to the new Cigar Talk. This is place for general chat about cigars. Here you can post your personal opinions on a cigar brand, discuss counterfeit cigars, ask other posters where to find hot or new brands or just chat about the latest cigar news. These forums are intended for personal use; commercial solicitations are not permitted and will be deleted.
ya...once you get 100 posts or so under your belt, that's evidently up for interpretation.

Why don't you look at the history and the evolution of the board smartass. Better yet ask Savona. This forum is the general discussion board. If you don't like it, move along. Mike

Hey EYE if all every one talked about was cigars this would be one freaking boring forum! EYE for one enjoy this forum because of the mixture of topics discussed. So dude just sit back and enjoy there are many interesting people participating and who knows perhaps you could be one of them.
michaelsean, if Mr. Savona agrees so much with your oppinion, why wouldn't he just rename this board the 'General Discussion Board' and while beeing there, change its description too? Hmmm.. it's also funny that while many of the CA forum members are NOT of US origins, is seems as though the ONLY politics discussed here are US politics... In my very short history on this forum, I didn't see any of the EU members start an EU politics thread. I guess for some people the Bush thing is a bigger obesession then their cigars and IMO THEY should go elsewhere for discussing these sort of things because for what I know, a cigar means business, not politics and business does not involve politics...
Maybe because it was named this for a long time and we all know what it is. Now, you just have to learn what it is. HMM OPTION 1 change it for the 3 new people or OPTION 2 keep it like it is for the vets and make the new people learn. I say Option 2.
BTW dont get offended. I know that it seems weird, just try and get the flow of things on the board before critcizing.
At least you didnt ask where to get cubans on your first post.
Damn EYE you must be blind cuz there are two forums that are less than an inch away from cigar talk on you screen entirely dedicated to talking about cigars. Sheesh, you should change your name to blind mofo.
You can always hire one half of the poor to kill the other half.
I forget who said it but a member once said on this very topic (my apologies for who said it and I am of course paraphrasing)
This is like a virtual cigar lounge. When you go into a cigar lounge the people sitting around smoking are not just talking about cigars. They talk about a variety of topics not excluding politics; days events; personal happenings. So sit back light up a cigar and enjoy the company.
This is the most relevent answer as to why cigars are not primarily discussed on this board. If you pay attention sometime cigars are discussed in different threads. Questions like "I'm new what cigars do I start with?" or "How much humidity is too much?"
So you see cigars are talked about on this board as well.

I think the Dominican Monte's are a cool brand. Do you think the ones I buy are fake? The brand is getting pretty hot, do you know where I can get them?
I'd like to see some posts on foreign politics. What little we hear here is filtered through our own media lens. I try to listen to BBC news sometimes, but it would be interesting to see the posts from members in other countries about their own politics.
