The D.R., Nicaragua, and Honduras are military juntas? It is scary how grossly misinformed you are. I hope some day you start telling the truth on this forum.
"The Dominican Republic is a representative democracy, with national powers divided among independent executive, legislative, and judicial branches. The President of the Dominican Republic appoints the cabinet, executes laws passed by the legislative branch, and is commander in chief of the armed forces. The president and vice president run for office on the same ticket and are elected by direct vote for 4-year terms. Legislative power is exercised by a bicameral Congress composed of the Senate (with 32 members) and the Chamber of Deputies (with 178 members)."
"Nicaragua is a constitutional democracy with executive, legislative, judicial, and electoral branches of government."
"Politics of Honduras takes place in a framework of a presidential representative democratic republic, whereby the President of Honduras is both head of state and head of government, and of a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the National Congress of Honduras. The party system is dominated by the conservative National Party of Honduras and the liberal Liberal Party of Honduras. The Judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature.
The 1987 constitution of Honduras provides for a strong executive, a unicameral National Congress, and a judiciary appointed by the National Congress. Reinforced by the media and several political watchdog organizations, human rights and civil liberties are reasonably well protected."

Well, yeah, kinda. But in the "old days", we wouldn't have tolerated a President in our hemisphere that was best pals with guys like Hugo Chavez, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Muammar Qaddafi (and, of course, Fidel Castro), recognizes the independence of the Georgian breakaways and supports the Russian position there, supports Colombia's FARC as courageous "freedom fighters", and has dissed President Bush by rejecting his invitation to come to Washington for "talks".
Admittedly, though, damned fine cigars.

KKL Relax man! It's a joke man. No need to get on your high horse. Central American and Caribbean countries have problems with their governments, the military traditionally take over when the need arises, elections are often accused of fraud, politicians often represent the interests of the wealthy at the expense of the masses.

Hydragoat we disagree on many things but all things aside this is pretty hilarious

Perhaps because it is legal to purchase from these countries and that's where most of the non-Cuban cigars are made. Also, it is widely known that good intentioned moderates as well as the honest left wing liberals always want to obey all laws which would include the USA federal government ban or purchasing cigars or any other products from Cuba.
