All this talk about democracy has me thinking. Has anyone else ever had the idea that maybe democracy is not for everyone and perhaps certain cultures perform better under another type of government? All too often we see countries move to democracy only to fail and descend into chaos.

Thats your opinion and you are entitled to it.
I however disagree the Arab nations have long hated the United States.Hell look at Lucky he is a prime example of the hatred the Arab nations have for the U.S. Both because of their support for Israel and there lack of support in some instances Osama Bin Laden being another prime example.I have heard that there after the oil excuse for wars since Vietnam.I did not believe it then and i do not believe it now. The Arab nations are more than happy to do business with the U.S who else would they sell all there oil too.Europeans,Russia,China?Would that be enough to keep the Arab nations a float?I doubt it these other nations i know because i spend more time in Europe than the states have no intentions of using more oil. They have done with less for so long they have adjusted themselves.Unlike America which i am sorry to say has become a nation of consumption.

How many times do I have to say that I DO NOT hate America but rather dislike it's policies in the region which I live in and which have a direct negative effect on me.

In SHEEP's book either you bow down to the American actions in the region or else you're an "american hating terrorist sympathizer".

Good, just don't expect everyone to play by your book's rules SHEEP. Human beings are not identical bricks. You will meet people who will not agree with you, who will not necessarily think like you, yet they are not necessarily your enemies and they don't necessarily hate you. You should know better, you're 49 for god's sake.

Sheep I think you will have to learn more about the energy markets in order to grasp the cause and effect.

If people realized the supply/demand unbalance they would know why we are in Iraq and other middle eastern countries.

Peak Oil is here. Google the term and except the fact that we are there.

Another caveat is the US dollar used as the petro-dollar. Remember when Saddam wanted to trade Iraqi oil in Euros? The US will never let this happen. Now it will be interesting to see what happens with the Iranian Bourse and other countries trying to trade oil outside the realm of the US dollar. If that scenario catches momentum and demand for the US dollar lessens then we are all screwed.

So my point is that there is a lot more to this than simple patroitism.

Then as you said, "America which i am sorry to say has become a nation of consumption."

The U.S. is totally dependant on foreign oil. We consume 25-30% of the daily world production.

If America wanted that oil they would go in and take it period.
The only thing big business is doing is testing the limits of the American people and getting richer at the same time.
Every day they open the market they sit there How much will the idiots pay?
Its a game for them the rich get bored too.

Holy Cow Sheep. We did go in there and take the oil!!! That was my point. We militarily took control over the oil reserves of another country. No matter how people try to spin it that is what happened.

Yes, Obama is "inexperienced" compared to McCain. This is a good thing. Americans are rejecting that type of experience and they want change. McCain is a war mongering nut job.

Do you ever plan on contributing anything to this forum? How is being inexperienced a good thing? You are simply ignorant. You haven't brought a thing to any of these discussions yet, what are you, twelve? I mean really, spell-check may be of benefit to you, considering three or four of your last posts are full of spelling errors. To top it off, you haven't expressed one legitimate original thought in all of it. Roll Eyes

More insults. Is that all YOU bring to this forum? The country is sick and tired of the type of Washington insider "experience" McSame represents. If the people of this country want four more years of the same old GOP garbage that got this country where it is now, they will vote for your "experienced" John McSame Bush. Now do yourself and all of us a BIG favor. If you can't discuss these things rationally and all you have to offer people are INSULTS, why don't you STFU for a week. Maybe learn some manners. I can tell by your posting style that you are a weak person who would not talk tough in person; why do so on the internet? Because no one can SEE your pigeon chest and your pencil neck? Don't worry, even if we can't see it, we know it's there.

Pass this advice to SHEEP. He seriously needs it. Wink
The new Firefox with integrated spell check is your friend.

Nah, Sargeant Presley is nothing like that -- you'd be surprised. He's, in fact, our resident Darth Vader. We like him just the way he is (Well, I respect him anyway...)...

He is a sounding board into a very real parallel universe.

Mind you, once in while, he also even gives the impression that he has a heart.

Not a concern of mine; if he does have one, it appears that it pumps Kool Aid. No, it's his brain that I have serious doubts about, not his heart. LOL...

Very boring. BTW, I assure you that I would say everything I post to your face. Say what you will, you can even continue to use all caps to emphasize your points, with all the eloquence of a fifth grader. However, I assure you loco, with all of your 38 posts, you are making a lot of friends here. Roll Eyes

Thanks Flashman, we may disagree at times but I do respect your opinion. You give a different perspective and don't feel the need to insult John McCain, a man who has clearly paid his dues, so that people like loco can run their mouths.

There you go, more insults. I seriously doubt you would be so tough talking to anyone's face; those who really ARE tough don't act like you and don't talk like you, not in real life, nor on the internet. You are obviously a very insecure person who realizes that they are bankrupt intellectually, so you resort to insults and taunts because THAT'S ALL YOU GOT. As for making friends, I assure you I am not here to make friends with the likes of you. Some of these other guys seem intelligent and respectful, and who knows, maybe I'll make a friend or two or maybe not. But as far as you go, no sleep will be lost over you not being my fwen, ok?
