Wow what a herf. We had Bert Gottfried from Oliva give us one of the new O classics (very nice)...Tom Poehler handing out La Aurora Maduro Torps and the Monte Carlo Churchill....and THEN we had the very first box of the La Aurora 1495s. These were the robustos and were just as tasty as the samples from the RTDA. Perfect construction...a silky smooth wrapper...tightly filled with a wonderful draw. The flavors were a nice spice to begin and they continued to build throughout. One of our members only smokes Cubans...but he decided to try this one and decided he will smoke this one regularly.

A great night of smokes, scotch & rum.

NOOBIE Fair Warning;
It is a Monte Christo, a Monte Carlo is a car.
We had someone recently get all worked up about this, so we are just having fun. Don't take it personally. Its just silliness.

Dre;
The Monte Carlo Churchill is the one that only came as a convertible and had the 350 hp engine.
The Monte Carlo #2 is a designation that means the car was redone using some new parts.
Everyone knows that a NC will take a Monte Carlo in the 1/4 mile.
I thought this was a cigar forum.
I want to see your resume, Mowee.
You don't by any chance go by the name Marvin or Martin, do you?
I can feel the flames starting to ignite.
Say, you don't know any nuclear physicists that i could ask some questions about the universe, do you?

Nope it is a Monte Carlo....being made in Nicaragua by Eiroa for our local rep who is selling em in the southwest. They are VERY tasty sticks...but if ya ain't in Dallas or the Southwest ya can't get em.

Resume? well I have been smoking cigars since 63 ( as a teenager with my granddad's Phillies). Visited my first cigar factory in 1973...been to Honduras (Eiroa's place) and to Cuba several times (on licenses)..have been to Partagas, Romeo y Julieta and to the Habanos Festival (Yes it is Montecristo on the real ones)...Been to RTDA for the last 8 years...our Dallas group is going to the Dominican next year to visit some other factories.

I even have talked with Dave when I was working on the fight to repeal the smoking ban in Dallas. CA wrote about our efforts ( which alas were way underfunded) and gave us space at the Big Smoke to gather signatures. I also have been running herfs in DFW for the past 8 years...including our Post Turkey Day Crawl. Also notice I have been a member longer that you guys Big Grin

Does that help? Smile

so, ok, I'm out of the loop. Where did this wondrous event occur?
And, you are absolutely correct about the Monte Carlo. I was at Sir E's the other night for a tasting, and the guy that designed the blend (that Eiroa makes for him) was there. First thing I ever won at a tasting was there. I won the free box of Monte Carlos.
Box pressed, looks like a maduro, but is a Criollo wrapper, and binder. Nice smoke, very deceptive. Pre-light aroma was mild, no shock on lighting, very smooth, slightly stronger toward the last 1/3 of the smoke. Had a little uneven burn towards the end, but nothing major. Probably just needs some age. Got surprisingly buzzed from it. Big Grin

LOL yup. But yes there is a Monte Carlo. There was one a while ago and I think Cigars International had some. Have no clue who made them but they...well sucked.

These new ones are priced a little better than Padrons and have as much if not more taste. Very nice smokes but as I said are only available in the Southwest for now. Unless you want to try to suck on a tailpipe of a Chevvy Big Grin
