My friend Paul joined the Air Force and left for 2 reasons one was that attitude. The second was breach of contract because they promised him all this crap and never delivered. So go sing that song of non-sense to those who don't know any better we veterans have all ready been there.
Dude, pull your panties out of your butt and quit whining. Since when do Marines whine about someones attitude. Do I think we are better than Marines? No, I didn't say that. I said we had better leadership that took care of us. Plus, you may want to do research about us "prima-donnas"...our fitness standards are now higher than the Marines, along with the other standards that have always been higher, Moral and Academic. Oh, then there is the quality of the people that are recruited. Make sure to concentrate on the last line after you read the full story. This is fact.
BTW-The Marines are sure as hell the cockiest bunch of goof-balls one will encounter in the service. To say that people in the Air Force are full of themselves is surely the pot calling the kettle black for a Marine. For anyone to contend that the Air Force does not do their part is ridiculous, as a matter of fact-the Air Force is the only service that has been deploying to the desert continuously since 1990. So some are Marines, some are Army or Navy, the important thing is service. Green is obviously your color. Mine is blue.

You may want to read the story, the headline is misleading...
Gates said in a speech at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, that getting the military services, largely the Air Force, to send more unmanned surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft to Iraq and Afghanistan has been "like pulling teeth."
The Air Force brass does not always allocate where money goes, civilian leadership does that. Most of us have no say in how many drones we buy. What a ridiculous article.

If a soldier, sailor, airman or Marine dies in the field we will collect his weapon and gear, but for the purpose of denying the enemy the opportunity to confiscate it after we depart the area. Conceivably a member's family could be charged for lost gear and/or weapons. Realistically if a weapon is unaccounted for, an investigation is conducted and a form (called a Missing, Lost, Stolen or Recovered (MLSR) property report) is completed.
Maybe this is why the Captain goes down with his ship.

You really are a jerk. I get a good laugh out of meatballs like you. The internet is really a safe place. Where one such as yourself can wag your tongue. I don't think if you were on liberty in a saloon your tongue would wag so much, except maybe from licking your wounds from the beating a Marine just gave you.

All I can say (regarding the direction this thread has taken) is that of all the services; generally speaking of course; if the sh!t were to hit the fan, I'd rather be standing next to a Marine. Actually, I'd rather be standing next to a SEAL, but as a whole service, I'd rather it were a Marine!
Plus they're a lot of fun to f#$k with

Listen, I hate to break it to you but I've seen more than my share of Marines get their ass handed to them by people in the Air Force, of course, most of them were drunk. I'm not trying to insult Marines, and your opinion really doesn't mean crap to me. My whole point was proven by you in your post. BTW-In the Air Force, we don't have "liberty" we are free to do as we wish anytime we aren't on duty. Lastly, the Air Force as a whole is more educated and obviously you didn't test well enough to get in so go cry somewhere else. I really wasn't trying to be smart at all, when I was in recruiting there was an understanding that some people were more green, meaning that they liked to do Army/Marine type stuff. However, since you take it as an insult and act the typical Marine way, which is to shoot off your mouth and make threats of bodily harm, I will respond the typical Air Force way-shut up, Jarhead. Or, how are your bosses in the NAVY treating you guys? Please, don't make me challenge you to a spelling bee. Besides, most Marines I've encountered are about a buck-fifty soaking wet. Grow up, jerk, we're all on the same team. Obviously you are bitter about whatever past experiences you've had in the Marines or with the Air Force, well get over it. Maybe you shoulda seen a different recruiter. Regardless, there are perks to being smarter or scoring higher on the ASVAB.

I never tried to go in the Air Force cause everyone knows they are prima donna's. Compared to Marines its a country club. The only one here crying all the time is you i am sick of hearing about your glorious service to your country. You are so full of yourself i doubt you really are who you say you are. No one braggs as much as you. I have been on here for quite a while no one even knew of my service to my country till i got in it with you. Real men don't bragg they just do. You make me sick you call yourself a soldier. Go through our 13 weeks of basic which you would never make it through then come and talk to me about what a man you are. You are a disgrace to your uniform if i told you what my rank was when i left you would be licking my boots Maggot,Grunt. I would love to shoot the breeze with your commanding officer let him know what a turd he has in his outfit.

What a cry-baby you are...
BTW-I could care less about your rank, I highly doubt you ever held one. BTW-I certainly have never called myself a soldier, and a "grunt" is a Marine. Seems you have your terms mixed up an aweful lot for someone claiming to be a Marine. Really, I'll waste no more time with you, if you were a Marine, thanks for your service, now why don't you grow up. BTW-I have submitted pics here before in uniform to someone else who was questioning my service, quite a few people here saw them. I'm sure we'd love to see some of yours. Though I doubt you'd ever do that because you are a cry-baby. You've been here quite a while? Yeah, less than a year and over 2700 posts, get a freakin life. Besides, 13 weeks is probably how long it took to teach you to wear your uniform properly.

That's what I thought. Go take your insecurities out on someone/something else. No wonder you've posted more here than most people who have been her three times as long. You may want to study up on proper punctuation, since you do post so much. Good luck to you.

Hmm, maybe you were a Marine.

For someone whose never served on a battlefield (by your own admission), you are awefully sure of yourself. Now, I've at least been deployed in a war zone during Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. So, I'd say that this Air Force guy has seen more action than you ever have or will. However, you stay secure in your service and I thank you for it. Now, please, start working on your grammar and punctuation.

Never said i never served on the battle field.I said i served in the Marine Corps in peace time.Allow me to educate you a little bit. That means there was no war going on at the time.If you had read what i said i was one of about two hundred Marines deployed to the island of Grenada to rescue students. We encountered heavy fire when we landed on the beach.Thank God we only lost a couple. We used to joke about it some battle it took two hundred Marines two hours to secure the island.Note the Marines are a unit that deploys from the land, air,or sea.Its one thing to be proud of your service to your country and quite the other to blow your own horn constantly. As for your branch being any smarter or more important or well equip t that is just plain insulting and just not true.As for my grammar if you took the time to get to know someone before insulting them. You would already know that i am fluent in more than one language and reside in Europe most of the year. Some times when you are speaking in one language and writing in another something gets lost in translation. Now if your really want to serve your country take the cotton out of your ears and stick it in your mouth.

The Grenada invasion wasn't an easy walk in the park. Actually, 19 American Marines, Army Rangers and Navy SEALS died during the Grenada invasion, which was as much an operation to get rid of a Marxist Cuban ally as it was to rescue students.
Forty-nine Grenadans were killed, as were 29 members of Cuba's People's Revolutionary Army (PRA). Twenty-four civilians were killed.

Gates calls bad barracks conditions at Fort Bragg appalling Published: 5/2/08, 9:46 AM EDT By LOLITA C. BALDOR FORT BLISS, Texas (AP) - Defense Secretary Robert Gates, after watching a YouTube video showing poor barracks conditions at the Army's Fort Bragg in North Carolina, said Thursday that what he saw was "appalling" and that all commanders must ensure that their troops have decent living quarters.
"Soldiers should never have to live in such squalor," Gates said during a speech to a packed auditorium of senior enlisted soldiers.
The nearly 10-minute video, put together by the father of an 82nd Airborne paratrooper, showed mold, peeling paint and broken plumbing fixtures in the Korean War-era barracks. The video triggered a worldwide inspection of Army barracks when it surfaced last week.
Gates' comments were the first he's made about the problems, and he said that if local resources are not available for the soldiers, then troops must alert their commanders.
Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell said he does not believe that Gates had any particular person in mind when he mentioned that commanders needed to be responsible.
"He knows that the Army is aggressively looking into this matter and is confident that they will deal with it accordingly," said Morrell. "But, in general terms, he believes in accountability up the chain of command."
Gates watched the video on the plane en route to Mexico City on Tuesday.
"The conditions were appalling," Gates said Thursday.
The soldier's father, Ed Frawley, said he was disgusted by the conditions that greeted his son and the rest of his 82nd Airborne unit that returned last month from a 15-month tour of duty in Afghanistan.
Army leaders this week said improvements were coming, but some of the problems couldn't be fixed quickly. By Wednesday, the barracks had new paint, and water fountains were fixed, but work crews still labored on the plumbing.
Gates warned in his speech Thursday that, "current needs must not be sacrificed to future capabilities, whether the need is proper treatment of wounded warriors" or getting heavily armored vehicles and more surveillance capabilities to the battlefront.
