I usually have a buddy at work put $20 on the #10 horse to win, but the friend did not make it to CD this year. Which means the #10 is sure to win today.

When they pulled up two equine ambulances plus a regular ambulance to surround Eight Belles in order to screen the scene from the cameras, I knew what was happening. These horses are so strong and have such mighty hearts, yet are so fragile. It's depressed me for the rest of the day.

That was horrible. I still didn't see what happened? I'm wondering if she kicked something during the cool down lap.
Also, I felt like NBC didn't spend anytime at all talking about it. Not nearly as much as Barbaro last year. Kind of cold if you ask me.

She'd just crossed the finish line in second place, and when her jockey pulled her up, both front ankles shattered. Watching the replay from the overhead camera made me cringe. The vet had no alternative.

Terrible, terrible, terrible end to a great race by the filly. My eyes watered up when I saw her on the ground.

Took off right after the derby. Dont know what else to add. Was a mixed up race and then that happened. I had big brown, but really now wished she would of won.
It was tough to see such a powerful animal in such a prone position on the track, especially after finishing the race like she did. They did the right thing and attempted to do it the right way considering the circumstances. My hats off to the vets and staff.
