I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks and thought I'd make a post to say hello to everyone. Seems like these forums have a great number of knowledgeable posters who seem willing to help the noobish, and enough tongue-in-cheek humor to keep things interesting.

Who am I? I'm an veteran of the US Navy (two tours in the Persian Gulf during the first Gulf war). I've moved around quite a bit after that but have settled now in central Ohio. Some call me a computer geek, but I prefer "Network Administrator" Smile A really good friend of mine in Chicago introduced me to cigars this past winter and I've really gotten into it over the summer. Presently I like a good mild-medium bodied cigar and have found cigarsinternational.com to be a great resource. I'm waiting on my first box of 5 Vegas to arrive right now, and am drooling in anticipation. I've been smoking some Don Elias Longsdales (not bad but not great either)that I picked up on close-out from CI.

I wish I would have started reading these formus sooner as I have previously purchased a 100ct (ha!) humidor off of eBay and wish I would have gotten at least a 300ct. But now I have my sights set on a coolerdor after seeing some of the excellent ones the people on this board have made, although my wife just thinks I'm crazy.

Anyhow, I look forward to taking part in some of the excellent discussions that happen here and hope to continue to refine my palate with the help of everyone here.

(Ahem.. Go Colts!)

Welcome to the forum and enjoy the 5 Vegas Cigars. The Series A are becoming a favorite morning smoke for me.

Welcome to the forum, and Welcome Home Brother.

You'll like the 5 Vegas line, they are all good smokes, from the Sumatra wrappered original red label to the Golds, A's, and Edition limitadas. I reccommend the Golds and red band originals if you like a mild-medium smoke, can't go wrong there. The A's and limitadas are medium-full.

Enjoy the forum, there are some knowledgeable people here, and just ignore the one's that aren't.

Welcome. And I'm sorry to hear that you answered the sirens call of a Don Elias 2-fer.

Nice to have another computer savvy around. Thanks so much for kicking butts and taking names in the Persian Gulf. If your travels take you to the Palm Springs neighborhood I’ll buy the cigars and we’ll talk shop or better yet more cigars.

Thanks for the nice welcome everyone.

And yes pintoirish, the best thing about the Don Elias cigars is the cool box that they came in... pieces of which are now lining a tupperware container for my 'overflow' humidor. Hey, at 90cents apeice I wasn't expecting greatness. They are nice to hand out to my non-cigar smoking buddies when they come over though Wink . I just tell them that they are aged for 4 years and they are impressed Big Grin
