I have to say due to the recent return of my Xikar cutters and recent failure of my old boy lighter i was forced to purchase some new equipment. To be quite frank i am not happy with the replacement Xikar cutters i got they are cheap made in China crap. I mailed my old Boy in for repair or replacement but i won't see it for weeks.
So i wound up purchasing a X- Tend lighter and a Palio burl cutter as my other Palio is in Italy. Quite frankly i never thought the Xikars i had for my condo in new york would fail me but i was wrong. All i can say is the X-tend is a wonderful classy looking lighter that works excellent. The Palio cuts straight and true not like the Xikars. Best part is the Palio comes with a lifetime warranty card signed by the person who made it. Best of all its Made In The U.S.A.
The X- Tend also comes with a lifetime warranty card as well I highly recommend these two products to anyone looking to purchase. They are high end but in the long run they will last a life time IMHO worth the extra investment. I took a quick picture please excuse as i am not a great photographer. http://s581.photobucket.com/albums/ss254/DonBlonde/

I have a couple X-tends, a couple Porsche circle-flames, and a Dupont Ligne II. The X-tends are BY FAR the best of the bunch. Classy, great flame, works every time. Also, the flame is almost laser-like, making touch ups a simple task.
I use xikar cutters and although I am generally happy with them, I frequently get a "hump" in the middle of the cut - it doesn't always get perfectly flat. I may give the palio a look-see.
Anyone try the new lacquer and chrome cutter by Dupont? It's a double-blade guillotine and the design seems to blend well with the X-tend line. Looks pretty slick...

I sent back by Xikar for repair and the one I got back cuts well but has fallen apart. It's at a buddy's shop being epoxied back together. My XTend was lost by a co-worker, so I've been using matches for the past 6 months.
Heard some great things about the Palio. Think I may get myself one.

I also have had the best luck with the Palio. Never could get a straight cut with my Xikar, always figured it was just me. I see Xikar is now offering a more conventional style cutter also.

I just got two new Xikars back from the company and they do the same thing. The Palio cuts like a scalpel razor sharp about $5 more than the Xikar but its made in the U.S.A.

Xikars are ok, but palio's are the bomb! they cut razor sharp everytime and i like that design better than the xikars, easier to cut. I got rid of all my xikars except my havana one which i will keep simply because i spent $250 on it and it's pretty looking.

Sheep that's a nice combo... I got the same burl Palio cutter. Haven't used my xikar cutter in months.. the palio feels more natural and easier to cut compared to xikar.

I wish the palio would have a little weight on it like xikars..It feels like a cheap plastic given its price. But I guess as long as it works beautifully, I should be happy.
