So the other day I get a catalog in the mail, and I do not even pay attention. I thought it was Famous smoke. I started browsing through it and thought...WTF happened to Famous? Why are they pushing all these cheap brands? I even say cigars named T*******S and did not even think twice since I never bought anything from them.

I though why is famous selling these? Then I looked at the from and saw who it was from.

I just subscribed to Cigar Aficionado magazine two months ago. Is it possible they share information?? Anyone have this problem before?

Any particular reason why you can't say "Thompsons"? Provided of course that's the place you're referring to.

Recently the same thing happened to me. Haven't gotten a T catalog in over twenty years until this month, and have never bought anything from them. They only thing different I have done the last few months was to subscribe to CA, after having not taken it for about 10 years.

We never speak the "T" word here.

You just don't. There are some things that can't be explain but just accepted for what is is. It's an unoffical forum rule and violating it once you've been warned comes with dire consequences.

Place an order with them and then just try to get off their mailing list...you'll have a better understanding and acceptance of this rule.

I think you just subscribed to them by mentioning the name... a lifetime of subscription to their catalog.

I got one out if the blue the other day as well. Hmm, seems like they are getting a mailing list from another retailer.

Ny wife would sooner shave her head, put lipstick on her ass, and walk backwards bent over than smoke a cigar, but T********S sends HER the catalogues, not me.

I haven't ordered from them in 7 or 8 years and a catalog showed up in my mailbox this week.

I guess it's nothing more than a little marketing on their part.

I'm new here, why exactly is Thompson's not cared for? I personally have my own reason to order from Famous Smoke instead of Thompson. I've had not great experience with Thompson's pushiness and lack of giving out tracking numbers. Is that the reason?
Thanks!

i ordered my very first humidor and cigar sampler from them in 1999 and haven't ordered anything since. i've moved twice since then and still somehow the catalog shows up at my house every once in a while.

it somehow find its way to my toilet reading collection and then the trash quickly after.

Whats the big deal, theyre Tampas oldest and most respected cigar retailer, come on, who doesnt want to smoke a Victor Sinclair or a Tusker? Geez-louizze, nothing like a bandless bundled cigar to celebrate on your wedding day.

I got one this week from them as well. I have never bought anything from them, nor would I. I would sure like to know who they bought a customer list from so I could yell at someone about it.

Warm Texas evening, comfy chair on the deck, 3 fingers of bourbon, dog at my feet, and a good cigar. It doesn't get any better!
